GoT Games To Play While Waiting For Winter To Come
Game of Thrones fans got confirmation last month that the eighth and final season of the HBO epic will air in the spring of 2019. That’ll be a full 18 months since the end of season 7, so fans will have to find something to do to get their GoT fix while waiting to find out who will be crowned king – or queen – of Westeros.
When not reading the increasingly crazy fan theories, we at Gameramble like to play some quality GoT games while we await the arrival of winter in King’s Landing. Here is our pick of the best titles out there. Remember, once you play the Game of Thrones, you either win or you die, so in the name of the Mother, be careful.
Game of Thrones online slot
HBO have licensed an official slot game which can be played at most good online casinos, and in a slot market crammed with poor offerings, this one shines. The four houses of Baratheon, Lannister, Stark and Targaryen battle for the Iron Throne and their banners feature heavily in the symbols, while the bonuses include a spectacular Gamble Feature. This involves the Raven, White Walker, Direwolf and Dragon symbols, and if you choose heads or tails correctly at each stop, you double the value of each win.
Game of Thrones – Telltale Games
There have been a few video games based around GoT, but the Telltale titles are the best of them. Telltale’s trademark style of choose-your-own-adventure lends itself perfectly to the plot-based nature of the TV show. The graphics and styling of the characters are top-notch, and the plotline is excellent too, as you take on the role of minor characters of the Stark-affiliated House Forrester and see how they interact with the story we know from the TV show. You determine the fate of your characters through the choices you make; your actions and decisions will change the story around you. Finally, you have the chance to be present at the Red Wedding! Check out our reviews for episode one and episode two to see what we mean.
A Game of Thrones: The Card Game Second Edition
Video games are fun, but nothing quite beats sitting with friends around the kitchen table and playing cards. The GoT card game is an excellent addition to the arsenal of Thrones fans, although you should be aware that this game is based around the books and not the TV show, so expect some variations. Cards feature iconic characters such as Tywin Lannister, Stannis Baratheon, Daenerys Targaryen, Robb Stark and plenty more, each having their own strengths and weaknesses. With beautiful designs, and one-on-one or multiple player styles, this card game will make you feel like you are a hero of Westeros.
