New Gameplay Teaser Revealed For Goner

New Gameplay Teaser Revealed For Goner

The developers of Goner, the dinosaur survival adventure game currently on Kickstarter, has revealed a brand new gameplay teaser. Goner has already reached its Kickstarter goal, but with three days left it is also within reach of its second stretch goal. If achieved, this stretch goal will see a quetzalcoatlus added to the game. This pterosaur dates back to the Late Cretaceous period and was apparently one of the largest known flying animals of all time, so it is certainly something that we would love to see in the game. If quetzalcoatlus is added it will also come with new game mechanics and interactions.

For those who have not yet heard about Goner, it promises to be a first-person survival-horror game that promotes self-management and exploration style gameplay. Players will have complete freedom to explore a large island but will have to figure out how to deal with its many dangers, which includes feral dinosaurs and the remaining members of a lost civilization gone wild. Along with a survival mode where the goal is simply to live for as many days as possible the game will also have a story mode, which involves helping the protagonist find their mother and her missing crew.

There are a couple of things that looks like it will set Goner apart from the rest of the genre. These will include the ability for predators to not just see and hear you, but also smell you, which means disguising your smell could be just as important for survival as running and hiding. The game will also include the usual survival mechanics that fans of the genre enjoy, such as stats and inventory management, shelter and trap building, as well as hunting, fishing, cooking, and other activities.

Players will be able to skill up their survival abilities while exploring the coasts, swamps, meadows, thick jungles, and other biomes of the island. Other promises features include day and night cycles along with a weather system. These will all have pros and cons to deal with and should make for a more immersive experience. The dinosaurs sound like they will be the most terrifying adversaries in the game, but the island itself will also be covered in hazards like quicksand. The fact that the protagonist is just a regular person and not a heavily armed or military trained warrior should also make for an interesting experience.

Check out the gameplay teaser below and be sure to back the project on Kickstarter if you like what you see. Along with the game, there are also plenty of great add-ons such as merchandise to choose from. For more information keep an eye on the official website as well as Twitter.
