Gahkthun of the Golden Lightning Now Available For Pre-Order From MangaGamer

MangaGamer announced today that they will be accepting pre-orders on their site for the upcoming Gahkthun of the Golden Lightning.  This visual novel was developed by Liarsoft and the official release date has been set for December 23rd. One of the protagonists of its story is none other than Nikola Tesla, but the 20th century in which this game is set is one that is very different from our own.

This visual novel takes place in 1908, but in a world where steam-powered engines are commonplace. Thanks to these engines the civilization of this world has seen rapid development, but it has also left their skies shrouded in grey and the seas black. In the European Kingdom of France in the former harbor city of Marseille is located a massive artificial island, home to The Marseille Offshore Academia.

This is no ordinary school though as it is controlled by a secret society that rules Europe’s underworld with an iron first. The island is completely closed off from the outside world and only students who graduate there are permitted to leave, but one day a clean-cut young man in early adulthood arrives to shake things up. His name is Nikola Tesla and he is the first transfer student in the history of the Academia. He also claims to be 72 years old and promptly reveals that his intention is to save each and every Student of the Marseille Offshore Academia.
