RPG Series Grandia Getting Vinyl Collections And Music Box Release

Wayô Records is making Grandia fans very happy with the news that a wide assortment of releases dedicated to this beloved RPG series is on the horizon. The French label has already demonstrated their passion for music and a keen understanding of what it is that fans of video game soundtracks want. This can also be clearly seen with the Grandia soundtracks and tribute album that they are releasing on CD, vinyl, and music box. Here’s a closer look at what fans can expect.

First up is a tribute to Noriyuki Iwadre called Twelve Doors that will be available on vinyl as well as CD. The album celebrates 30 years of music by this legendary Japanese video game composer with tracks arranged for violin and piano. Performing some of the most memorable and iconic melodies by Noriyuki Iwadre is the multi-award-winning pianist Benyamin Nuss and the international concert violinist Shauno Isomura. It is arranged by renowned composers such as Michiru Oshima, Eric Roth, and Ryôtarô Yagi. Best of all, fans can expect a world premiere track called Overcome on the album. What makes it so unique is that Noriyuki Iwadare himself composed it especially for this album. Twelve Doors sounds like a must-have for fans of Grandia and Lunar.

Next up is the Grandia Complete Soundtrack that will be available on CD. With 8 tracks spread across five discs, this collection includes the full Grandia Original Soundtrack as well as the arranged album “Vent.” Vent is an arranged album that was released in Japan in 1998 and has been out of print for years. It was entirely arranged and performed by Noriyuki Iwadare and his best musicians making it very sought after. In addition, Toshiaki Hontani, who worked as the co-director and animator on Grandia made a brand new piece of artwork for this deluxe package. Rounding out the package is a completely new 20-page booklet filled with the gorgeous artwork of Toshiaki Hontani and Takuhito Kusanagi along with new comments from the development team, soundtrack producer, and composer.

Vinyl fans will love the Grandia Memorial Soundtrack, which will be available on three 180g discs. Each Disc has its own illustrated sleeve and the set consists of the two Grandia Original Soundtracks as well as Vent, the Grandia arrange album. The 20-page booklet filled with artwork and comments is also in this set.

Last, but certainly not the least, is the collectible Grandia Music Box. Grandia fans will agree that the main theme is extremely memorable and very nostalgic, which makes this item especially desirable. It performs the main theme of Grandia, especially arranged by Noriyuki Iwadare and features a beautiful wooden box that is illustrated with Spirits angels and the Spirit Stone from the Angelou civilizations. It is truly a collector’s item and comes delivered with a hand-signed score by Noriyuki Iwadare, but fans better act fast as it is limited to 250 copies.
