Plague Inc. The Cure Free For All Plague Inc. Players Until COVID-19 Is Under Control

Back when Plague Inc was first released not even the developers could have imagined that the current state of our world would resemble their game. The game is a strategic simulation that challenges players to bring about the end of human history using a deadly global plague. It’s terrifying stuff and the game is so realistic that the CDC even asked the developer to do a talk about the infection models in the game. However, in light of the current situation in the world, Ndemic Creations has released a major new expansion for the game titled Plague Inc. Evolved: The Cure. It is a complete reversal from the classic game and instead of destroying the world challenges players to try and control the global pandemic response

4 Current Home Business Trends And Why

4 Current Home Business Trends And Why

Once upon a time, there used to be a disparity between home businesses and regular businesses. This has all changed thanks to the pandemic, as millions of business owners are now forced to work from home

Donut County

Donut County

Donut County gives players control of a hole in the ground and then asks them to swallow up everything in sight. The hole starts small but grows larger as it swallows up more of the scenery. For the most part, players simply move the hole around and watch things disappear down its depths, which is relaxing, but very easy. Some of the later levels introduce a few puzzle elements, but there’s nothing here that is going to tax anyone. That’s fine for players looking for a chill game to unwind with but also feels a bit like a missed opportunity as so much more could have been done with the concept.

Gameplay: Very easy to play and very relaxing, but don’t expect any sort of challenge.

Graphics: Simple, but quite charming.

Sound: The soundtrack is great and fits the style of the game

Thumper

Thumper

Thumper is a rhythm-action game unlike any other and will test players’ reflexes to the maximum. It features a unique metallic-chrome style for the visuals, which makes for a slightly unsettling playing experience even without the disturbing bosses. The aggressive music and unforgiving speed of the game further amplify this. There’s no doubt that Thumper is a very challenging game, but it always draws you back in with the feeling that you can do slightly better with each try and finally conquer that one section that is preventing you from progressing.

Gameplay: It starts relatively simple, but the speed and challenge ramp up very quickly.

Graphics: The surgically clean metallic look of the game is actually rather unsettling.

Sound: While not catchy, the music and sound effects perfectly fit the game

Redout: Enhanced Edition

Redout: Enhanced Edition

Redout revives the anti-gravity racing genre with beautiful tracks that can be raced at blistering speeds. The career mode has enough events and tracks to keep players busy for ages, and the physics-based racing feels very intuitive once mastered. It’s not an easy game, but players who stick with it will have a lot of fun.

Gameplay: Redout is one of the fastest racers on the market.

Graphics: The game features eye-catching environments that look great at high speed.

Sound: The dynamic soundtrack with full 5.1 support sounds great

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2

Like its predecessor, Curse of the Moon 2 emulates the classic 8-bit Castlevania titles, particularly Castlevania III. It looks, sounds, and plays very much like an NES title, but unfortunately, this means that it is also frequently very unfair and unforgiving. The increased amount of enemies during the platforming sections makes for a more frustrating experience than the first game and the playtime is also padded out by having to repeatedly complete all the levels to experience all the endings. As a sequel, it makes some improvements but also stumbles a few times, which is disappointing. It’s certainly not a bad game but loses some of the magic and novelty that the original had.

Gameplay: Very challenging, but also a little too frustrating at times.

Graphics: Great sprite work and once again very true to the 8-bit Castlevania era.

Sound: Authentic, but doesn’t come close to the Castlevania titles in this regard

Everspace 2 Out Now On Steam Early Access

Everspace 2 Out Now On Steam Early Access

EVERSPACE by ROCKFISH Games was one of the surprise hits of 2017 and scored a well deserved 9.0 in our review back then. We’ve been looking forward to a sequel ever since, but thankfully the developers have been very careful about creating a follow-up that doesn’t tarnish the reputation of the original. This is also why they have chosen to make use of Steam Early access for EVERSPACE 2. The game is now available on both Steam Early Access as well as GOG Games in Development where players get to experience about 25 hours of gameplay

Cat Goes Fishing

Cat Goes Fishing

Cat Goes Fishing is a simple fishing game featuring a bunch of fish with different behaviors. As players catch and sell fish they earn enough cash and experience to upgrade their gear and go after even bigger species. The game can be very grindy at times and catching some of the fish on “Realism” mode might make you want to pull your hair out, but overall it’s a decent game. It’s not the best looking or sounding fishing game on the market, but it is easy to pick up and play. Beware, though, as it is also easy to get hooked and spent hours trying to catch some of the more elusive fish.

Gameplay: Simple, but quite addictive.

Graphics: Nothing to write home about, but the 2D sprites are not without charm.

Sound: Decent enough, but eventually the music does become repetitive

STAR WARS™: The Force Unleashed™ II

STAR WARS™: The Force Unleashed™ II

The Force Unleashed 2 is set a few months after the original game but offers a very disappointing continuation of the story. Playing as an overpowered Jedi that can annihilate everything in sight is quite fun initially, but once the novelty wears off the game becomes quite repetitive. Even worse, despite being very short the game has very limited environments and features lots of unnecessary padding. Worst of all the PC port is rife with bugs and annoyances that sap even more fun out of the experience. Hardcore Star Wars fans might still enjoy the game, but it definitely does not live up to its potential.

Gameplay: Fun at times, but ultimately very repetitive.

Graphics: The game can look great, but has a lot of technical issues.

Sound: The soundtrack and sound effects are very authentic
