UpperCup Football

UpperCup Football

It is hard to believe that a game where you only use one button can be this much fun, but UpperCup Football proves that it is possible. The beautiful visuals will draw you in and the addictive gameplay will keep you coming back for more. There is just so much variety in the teams and matches that you will want to keep playing just to see who you are up against next. UpperCup Football is definitely one of my favourite Android titles and one that will remain on my tablet for quite some time.

Gameplay: Very entertaining and incredibly addictive.

Graphics: Beautiful pixel art with tons of variety.

Sound: Catchy tunes and great sound effects

The two Frozen titles are developed and published by Mode 7, while Cloud Chamber is the brainchild of Investigate North, so you might be wondering what the connection is

Cannon Brawl

Cannon Brawl

Cannon Brawl is an extremely addictive title that manages to blend together several genres without making any compromises. The action is fast paced, but strategic thinking is rewarded and the balance is also very good. While the Adventure mode isn’t very long, the AI battles and multiplayer modes will keep you coming back for more. If you are looking for an entertaining title to play against friends, either online or local, Cannon Brawl should be high on your wishlist.

Gameplay: Fast paced, challenging and very addictive.

Graphics: Colorful and polished, but the visuals can be a bit cluttered at times.

Sound: A decent soundtrack and good sound effects

Ten Questions With… Paul Barnes (Kinelco) & Christian Holland (Lone Elk Creative)

Vertiginous Golf is an Early Access title that caught our attention with its unique setting and storyline. The game is in development by Kinelco along with sister company, Lone Elk Creative and is already shaping up to be something special. Paul Barnes from Kinelco and Christian Holland were kind enough to answer some of our questions about the game

Always Remember Me

Always Remember Me

Always Remember Me has the distinction of being the first Otome Game on Steam, so how much you enjoy it will depend very much on whether you like the genre or not. The story is interesting, but the focus is more on training stats which can result in repetition, especially after multiple playthroughs. For an older game, Always Remember Me still holds up well and it is quite a relaxing experience, so if you are in the mood for something different it is worth seeking out.

Gameplay: The focus is more on juggling stats than interacting with the characters.

Graphics: The artwork still holds up well.

Sound: The soundtrack is decent, but the speech snippets can start to become repetitive

Heroes & Legends: Conquerors of Kolhar

Heroes & Legends: Conquerors of Kolhar

Heroes & Legends: Conquerors of Kolhar offers a nice role playing fix without the investment in time required by the bigger titles. The emphasis is firmly on combat, so if this isn’t your favorite aspect of the genre you can skip this one. Although your input is rather limited, there is still plenty of strategy involved and the game can become rather addictive. There are plenty of enemies to face and the game offers a nice challenge, which makes it ideal for whiling away a few hours.

Gameplay: More strategic than it appears at first glance.

Graphics: Nice visuals, but the animation is a bit sparse.

Sound: Not a lot of variety, but what is on offer is good

Appointment With F.E.A.R

If you are a fan of the original role playing gamebook you will love the way that Tin Man Games brought it to life. You’ll still spend most of your time reading, but the great illustrations and comic book style presentation along with the soundtrack brings everything to life. The storyline is pretty straightforward, but infused with plenty of humor and parodies which makes it more entertaining. The different powers and story branches also give the game a lot of replay value.

Gameplay: Like reading a visual novel and making the key choices yourself.

Graphics: No animations, but some nice comic book style art and bold colors.

Sound: The music and sound effects make the game feel more dynamic
