Lewd Warfare (Ironstrom And Co)

Lewd Warfare (Ironstrom And Co)

With plenty of English visual novels appearing on Steam and in bundles these days players are spoiled for choice. However, indie games with adult content still face an uphill battle in terms of funding and exposure. We’ve seen developers like Lupiesoft expanding their roster with adult titles, such as the upcoming Menagerie, but outside of the visual novel genre the pickings for quality adult titles are still slim. Nevertheless, a small team of programmers, designers and artists are seeking to change this with their upcoming 18+ title, Lewd Warfare

Pre-Orders for The Menagerie by Lupiesoft Now Available On MangaGamer

The Reject Demon: Toko Chapter 0 — Prelude from English developer Lupiesoft was recently released to a positive reception on Steam and now they are back with a brand new release. It is titled The Menagerie, but don’t expect to see this one on Steam anytime soon as it is the first 18+ title from Lupiesoft. Instead, the game is now available for pre-orders on MangaGamer

Heart Work: Symphony Of Destruction

Heart Work: Symphony Of Destruction

Heart Works isn’t a very long game, but offers more choices than most titles in the genre and these actually lead to different scenarios and endings. It is however quite heavy on the sex and violence so don’t expect a very meaningful plot.

Gameplay: The story is short but can end in multiple ways.

Graphics: Not bad for the genre and completely uncensored.

Sound: Features voice acting and pretty decent music

Critical Point

Critical Point

I was expecting more from the story and less emphasis on the sex scenes considering the writer but this was not to be. The plot is still interesting and the location unique but the focus is firmly on the females and sexual content. Fans of the genre will enjoy it but others might not appreciate the mixture of sex and violence.

Gameplay: Lots of reading and a few choices here and there.

Graphics: Plenty of scenes and characters.

Sound: Japanese voice acting and decent enough music

Sakura Angels

Sakura Angels

Sakura Angels is a definite improvement over Sakura Spirit, but still falls short of greatness. Players who like plenty of fan service and don’t mind a story that is a bit clichéd will enjoy the game though and the artwork is beautiful. It is also a more risqué game compared to Sakura Spirit, but once again the title is more ecchi than hentai, so will be tame to people used to nukige titles.

Gameplay: The story is a bit more involved this time round and there are much more choices.

Graphics: Beautiful art work with plenty of detail.

Sound: Once again, no voice acting, but the music isn’t too bad

Sakura Spirit

Sakura Spirit

Sakura Spirit features some very nice visuals, but despite an interesting setup the plot never really goes anywhere. The lack of animations or poses are also very noticeable, although the CGs are very good. The nudity that is included in the game definitely leans more towards the ecchi side of the scale and not hentai, which might be a letdown for fans of the genre. There are better visual novels available, but hopefully Winged Cloud learns from their mistakes, as there are not many Western developers who bother making these titles.

Gameplay: The story is rather short and not very engaging.

Graphics: Very detailed and features nice character designs, but the amount of outfits and poses are lacking.

Sound: The soundtrack is nice, but the game features no speech

Kana Okaeri

Kana Okaeri

Kana Okaeri improves on the original title with updated visuals as well as full Japanese voice acting. Thankfully the original story remains untouched apart from some translation fixes. It is a pity that the resolution has only been increased slightly over the original version, but anyone who have not yet experienced this game should definitely check it out. The new art and visuals also make it an enticing offer for players that want to relive the emotional roller-coaster of a story.

Gameplay: The storyline is incredibly moving and you can actually make choices that affect the outcome of the game.

Graphics: The updated visuals look great, but the resolution is fixed at 800×600.

Sound: The soundtrack is still great and the new voice acting is done professionally.

HuniePop

HuniePop

If you are looking for something to be offended by you will find plenty to be outraged about in HuniePop. If, on the other hand, you are looking for a polished and entertaining title that combines a couple of different genres very successfully then you will find that this game is money well spent. Hopefully the developers will flesh out the concept further if they get around to a sequel as there is a lot of potential here.

Gameplay: The puzzle elements are fun and surprisingly strategic, while interacting with the girls is entertaining albeit a little repetitive.

Graphics: Beautifully drawn characters with plenty of clothing and hair variations, but no animations beyond lip synching.

Sound: The professional English voice actresses really bring the characters to life and the soundtrack is rather good too

Girlish Grimoire Littlewitch Romanesque: Editio Perfecta

Girlish Grimoire Littlewitch Romanesque: Editio Perfecta

Girlish Grimoire Littlewitch Romanesque: Editio Perfecta is absolutely the definitive edition of this great game and an essential purchase for fans of the raising sim/visual novel genre. The plot might not be very epic, but it makes up for it with wonderful characters and gameplay that is a bit more involved than simply clicking through lines of dialogue. With titles such as this and the equally superb Steins;Gate JAST USA is really on a roll.

Gameplay: Some great scenes, characters and a very addictive dice mini-game.

Graphics: Excellent artwork from the very talented Oyari Ashito.

Sound: Great tunes, sound effects and the original Japanese voice acting
