Apsulov: End of Gods

Apsulov: End of Gods

Apsulov: End of Gods is a future Viking horror where players must guide a young woman named Alice through the dark depths of a Swedish research facility. Norse Mythology meets science fiction in this game where the scientists meddling with the nine realms has had catastrophic consequences. Although rough around the edges in some places, Apsulov: End of Gods is an excellent game with a fascinating premise and comes highly recommended.

Gameplay: Apsulov features lots of exploration, along with some environmental puzzles and a bit of platforming.

Graphics: The game is very dark, but some of the environments look incredible.

Sound: Some of the voice acting is a little stiff, but the music and sound effects are excellent

Deep Rock Galactic

Deep Rock Galactic

Deep Rock Galactic is a very satisfying co-op first-person shooter starring dwarves fighting space spiders and other foes. The game is still fun to play solo, but it really shines when you team up with three other players using different classes. The procedurally generated cave systems, different biomes, and unique mission types make this a game that can keep you busy for a long time. It might seem a little daunting at first, but there are enough tutorials to ease you into the swing of things, and you’ll be mining and shooting with the best of them in no time.

Gameplay: A great combination of exploration, mining, and all-out shooting.

Graphics: The low-poly visuals look good, and some of the biomes are downright beautiful.

Sound: The dwarves are all very vocal, and the synth soundtrack is excellent

House of Caravan

House of Caravan

House of Caravan is a first-person exploration and puzzle game set entirely in a small, deserted mansion. The limited amount of puzzles are disappointing, to say the least, and slowly creeping through the mansion opening every cabinet and drawer grows old very quickly. Thankfully, the game can be completed in less than 90 minutes, provided you manage to avoid the bugs and wonky physics. This game could have done a lot more with the story and setting but ended up falling far short in all areas.

Gameplay: Slow, tedious, and boring.

Graphics: Decent enough, but very dark.

Sound: Stilted voice acting and unmemorable music

Palindrome Syndrome: Escape Room

Palindrome Syndrome: Escape Room

Palindrome Syndrome: Escape Room is a slow-paced puzzle experience featuring a character with amnesia waking up aboard a spaceship. Players must help them solve the logic puzzles that stand between them and the truth of what happened. While not a very long game the puzzles are enjoyable and very satisfying to solve.

Gameplay: The puzzles can be challenging, but are never illogical.

Graphics: Not a lot of visual options, but the graphics look decent.

Sound: Voice acting is a little stiff, but the soundtrack is good
