Despite the countless hours we’ve spent in NieR: Automata discovering all the secrets and endings, we still find ourselves regularly listening to the incredible soundtrack. Thankfully, arrangers like ROZEN+REVEN have allowed us to experience the beautiful soundtrack with new interpretations, such as their 2017 release of NieR: Glory to Mankind. The album is still one of our favorites out of their superlative catalog, so we were pretty happy with the news that they have released a brand new album titled NieR: Become as Gods

Take control of a shrine maiden and dodge noise while collecting souls in this action-packed game by Zoo Corporation. The rhythm elements are not as pronounced as in other titles, but Beat Souls still features a selection of great tunes and over-the-top visuals to accompany the frantic action. The 45 stages that can be played on Normal or Hard difficulty will keep players challenged for a while, and unlocking additional characters or taking on the endless Hell Mode adds some longevity.
Gameplay: Not a “pure” rhythm game, but still action-packed and very enjoyable.
Graphics: Very colorful and over the top, but can be toned down a bit.
Sound: Lots of catchy tracks across different genres
Scarlet Moon Records has recently released the original soundtrack to METAGAME by composers Garrett Williamson, Jesse Beauchamp, Melo, and LORD DINOSAUR. The soundtrack is absolutely packed with great tunes used for the eight-party Super Smash Bros. Melee documentary series. METAGAME chronicles the journey of five Super Smash Bros. Melee players and their efforts to become the world champion. In turn, the soundtrack captures the nostalgia of the documentary and features both orchestral and electronic sounds for its game-flavored tunes

Beats of Fury combines rhythm game and bullet hell shooter elements for a fast, frantic, and very addictive experience. Casual players are not left out in the cold either, as the game features a no aiming mode for an easier experience. It only took a decade or, but the previously Japanese Playstation 3 exclusive, Nier Replicant, is finally around the corner. While there’s still a bit of a wait left for the game fans can already get their hands on Transcience, a NieR synthwave tribute album by Sean Schafianski. This five-track EP, titled Transience, celebrates the award-winning original soundtrack by MoNACA in a distinctly ’80s style. Sean has taken five key themes from the original soundtrack and then injected some funky synths, smooth saxophone solos, and wailing guitars
Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without some festive music, so it’s a good thing that Scarlet Moon Records is back with their annual holiday album. This year marks the fifth time that game composers have united for a selection of Christmas standards arranged in their own style. For anyone who missed out on picking up the fantastic Aground soundtrack, there’s a new incentive to do so thanks to the Deluxe Edition re-release courtesy of Materia Collective.
