The Witch’s Love Diary

The Witch’s Love Diary

The Witch’s Love Diary is a unique visual novel that has plenty of stories to tell and a unique way of telling these stories. It offers quite a lengthy tale and the pace is somewhat on the slow side, but it is definitely worth the read. It also doesn’t skimp on routes for any of its characters, even the minor ones. Add to that beautiful visuals, along with a great soundtrack and you have yourself a visual novel that is worth investing some time in.

Gameplay: Not a lot of meaningful choices, but the story manages to remain captivating to the end.

Morphies Law: Remorphed

Morphies Law: Remorphed

Morphies Law: Remorphed is a colorful and entertaining online shooter that brings some genuinely unique elements to the genre. The game originally suffered a rocky launch on the Nintendo Switch, but this Remorphed version addressed all of the issues while also adding plenty of new content. The fact that it features crossplay between Steam and Switch users is also quite neat. Dreamscaper by Afterburner Studios

Dreamscaper by Afterburner Studios

Everyone who has ever dealt with depression will know what a battle it can be to overcome. This is the situation in which Cassidy, the protagonist of Dreamscaper, finds herself, except in her case it is somewhat more literal. Cassidy actually has the ability to dive into her subconscious and take on the surreal nightmares that she wrestles with. It’s a pretty unique premise for a game and one of the reasons why we suggest checking out the Kickstarter for Dreamcaper by Afterburner Studios. Dreamscaper is an upcoming ARPG Roguelite blend that promises to combine elements from brawlers as well as top-down shooters, and dungeon crawlers

Blazing Chrome

Blazing Chrome

Blazing Chrome is a great run-and-gun shooter that draws inspiration from Contra Hard Corps and other 16-bit classics. It is an unforgiving game but a lot of fun to play, and the developers have done an incredible job of capturing the look, sounds, and feel of the 16-bit era. While it only features six levels, they are all packed with enemies and bosses. After completing the game, you’ll unlock some extra challenges and characters to increase the replay value. While it’s a pity that Blazing Chrome lacks an online co-op, the local co-op is definitely a highlight.

Gameplay: The game is challenging but enjoyable once mastered.

Graphics: The 16-bit pixel art looks great.

Sound: The audio sounds like something right out of the 16-bit era

Streets of Rogue

Streets of Rogue

Streets of Rogue is a deceptively simple looking game, but scratch beneath the surface and you’ll find plenty of depth. It has a large selection of character classes, each with their own unique playing styles and a procedurally generated city in which to cause chaos. The amount of mission objectives is rather limited, but the ways in which you can go about accomplishing them is almost limitless. Overall, Streets of Rogue is an extremely addictive game with a ton of replay value.

Graphics: Simple, but not without charm.

Sound: The soundtrack is excellent and the sound effects really good too.

Gameplay: Extremely addictive and packed with things to do
