Unraveled: Tale of the Shipbreaker’s Daughter by RosePortal Games

RosePortal Games is a small indie studio known for creating titles with unique storylines and their upcoming release, Unraveled, is no different. Currently doing the rounds on Kickstarter, Unraveled is the tale of a young girl who lives at a shipbreaking yard. Separated from her family, the game follows the journey of the girl as she searches for them while traversing the dangerous environments. As she is still a child the girl sees her surroundings in a more whimsical and magical way and even imagines her stuffed animal coming alive to serve as her guardian

Crest (Eat Create Sleep)

Crest (Eat Create Sleep)

Mention the words “god game” and chances are players will immediately think about either Populous or Black & White. There have been others of course, but these two titles exemplify what people typically expect of the genre. It is also a very niche genre, but now developers, Eat Create Sleep, have stepped up with their take on things. Their credentials include the free ecosystem simulator, Among Ripples, which is also a very unique title, but Crest raises the stakes by putting you in charge of guiding humanity

Dimension Drive by 2Awesome Studio

Dimension Drive by 2Awesome Studio

It is not every day that we receive emails from engineers working for the European Space Agency, especially not about a multidimensional alien race attacking our universe! Fortunately the email was about the upcoming action title that the developers are developing in their free time and not about any imminent threat to our universe. Since they were kind enough to provide us with a playable build of the game we were able to get some hands on time with this unique shooter

Victor Vran (Haemimont Games)

Victor Vran (Haemimont Games)

If you are looking for an action RPG that is fast, fun and doesn’t get bogged down in endless stats you will enjoy Victor Vran. It also looks like the developers are pulling out all the stops to make this a game that fans will enjoy and you can provide feedback or report bugs from within the game to help with the development. There has been some great role playing titles released for PC lately and Victor Vran is definitely shaping up to be one of them

Radial-G : Racing Revolved (Tammeka Games)

Radial-G : Racing Revolved (Tammeka Games)

The phrase “anti-gravity racing” might be synonymous with the Wipeout series, but the demise of Studio Liverpool (Psygnosis) left a void in the market. Surprisingly enough, no developers seemed very eager to pick up the gauntlet until Tammeka Games revealed Radial-G: Racing Revolved. There are some very talented and experienced individuals behind this title, so we jumped at the chance to check out the Early Access version of the game

Nephil’s Fall by Exordium Games

Nephil’s Fall by Exordium Games

Start weak and build up your character until they are an unstoppable force. That is usually how progression works in games. Some games strip you of all powers at the start and require you to slowly regain them again, but Nephil’s Fall dares to do things a little differently

Carmageddon: Reincarnation (Stainless Games Ltd)

Carmageddon: Reincarnation (Stainless Games Ltd)

Believe it or not, the original Carmageddon was released more than 18 years ago already! However, it only took me a few minutes after booting up Reincarnation to realize that Stainless Games Ltd has nailed the feel of the game. Anyone who can remember gleefully plowing through throngs of pedestrians while smashing rival racers to bits will find that Carmageddon: Reincarnation offers the same level of vehicular carnage

Don’t Be Patchman by Naturally Intelligent

Don’t Be Patchman by Naturally Intelligent

After receiving an email from Naturally Intelligent urging me to not be a Patchman, I had no choice but to check out why this character has such a bad rep. It turns out that Patchman used his celebrity status to help a drone army enslave the Sheeple, normally happy folk who used to live in harmony with nature. Through a bizarre series of events, Patchman dies after eating a vending machine, but is brought back to life by a kind old granny who sewed him back together. Now it will be up to you to help Patchman redeem himself and rescue the Sheeple from the Drone army

Rising World (JIW-Games)

Rising World (JIW-Games)

After the success of Doom, every new game released with a first person perspective and guns were quickly labeled “Doom clones” despite whatever other merits they might have had. Thankfully people soon realized how stupid this practice was and instead recognized the first person shooter as a genre. However, here we are, many years later and every open world sandbox game with crafting involved is labeled as a “Minecraft clone.” Dismissing Rising World this way would be a mistake though, as despite the fact that the game is still in early access, it is already showing a lot of promise

Compulsion Games Announces We Happy Few

Compulsion Games Announces We Happy Few

After the release of Contrast way back in 2013, things have been rather quiet from Compulsion Games. The developers have finally broken their silence though to announce their latest title, We Happy Few. Apparently they have been hard at work on the game since early 2014 and judging by the trailer it has been time well spent
