Flewfie’s Adventure

Flewfie’s Adventure

Flewfie’s Adventure is a cute and colorful game about a cat in a UFO fighting equally adorable enemies across unique worlds. The 2D visuals pack a lot of color and detail, while the game also features a surprising amount of bosses. It’s not the most challenging game on the market, but there’s plenty of collectibles and even an optional card game hiding beneath the vibrant visuals. Younger players will enjoy this colorful adventure the most, but it has something for everyone, provided you are not afraid of cuteness and colors.

Gameplay: A lengthy adventure packed with optional quests and collectibles.

Graphics: Very colorful and filled with adorable characters.

Sound: The soundtrack is very decent with a surprising amount of variety

Procyon PC Review

Procyon PC Review

Procyon is a game that has more than a passing resemblance to the classic arcade titles from companies such as Irem and Toaplan. It won’t take long to complete the five levels on offer, but you’ll have fun doing so and the game is available at a bargain price. Procyon focuses on delivering a solid shooter instead of really shaking up the genre but it is polished and very enjoyable.

Gameplay: Nice, solid arcade shooter.

Graphics: Not the most detailed, but plenty of colors and explosions.

Sound: Great soundtrack and some pretty good sound effects

Game Type

Game Type

Game Type is clearly more of a spoof than a full-fledged game, but floating around and shooting the bizarre enemies while chasing a high score is surprisingly addictive. The co-op mode adds to the fun, but still can’t hide the fact that the game is very simple and quite repetitive. On its own it is hard to recommend, but it is still worth checking out as part of the Mommy’s Best Action Pack.

Gameplay: Amusing, but loops very quickly and can be repetitive.

Graphics: Very basic and with almost non-existent animations.

Sound: The music is fitting, but the constant shouts of “Parkour” soon becomes annoying

METAL SLUG 3

METAL SLUG 3

I have to confess that I am a huge fan of the Metal Slug series and number three is one of my all time favorites. It has been fourteen years since the game was originally released in arcades, but it has lost none of its charm or playability. It once again hooked me right from the start and prompted quite a few playthroughs even though I am very familiar with the levels. Veteran players are in for a nostalgic blast from the past while newcomers have a chance to see why this game is so highly regarded by fans of the genre.

Gameplay: An action packed run and gun title with awesome vehicle and huge bosses.

Graphics: The 2D visuals looked excellent way back in 2000 and still hold up great to this day.

Sound: As chaotic as you would expect from an arcade title

Jets’n’Guns Gold

Jets’n’Guns Gold

Despite not being a new release Jets’n’Guns Gold is still able to go toe to toe with newer titles. The action is relentless and the sheer amount of enemies and levels is quite amazing considering the low price tag. This is not an easy game, but persevere and it will have you hooked for hours.

Gameplay: Old school side scrolling shooter done right.

Graphics: Colourful and chaotic.

Sound: Energetic soundtrack with plenty of sound effects to back up the action

Reign of Bullets

Reign of Bullets

With tons of weapons and even more enemies to use them on Reign of Bullets is certainly not lacking in the action department. Levels are short, but intense and looting enemies in order to customize your own ship is quite addictive. It also features a striking visual style and offers enough replay value to make it well worth the asking price.

Gameplay: Action packed shooting and addictive ship customization.

Graphics: Bright, colorful and the further you progress the more chaotic things become.

Sound: Decent music and great sound effects
