Obscure is a survival horror game by Hydravision Entertainment and Mighty Rocket Studio that is considered to be one of the classics of the genre by many. Players get to team up or go at it alone as they investigate Leafmore High School, which has been the location of unexplained disappearances. The game is currently 66% off until 13 September 2021 as part of the Steam Week Long Deal. Check out the video below to see the game in action, including the local co-op mode
There’s never been a better time for fans of survival horror games and one of the upcoming additions to this popular genre is Chernobylite from The Farm 51. This is the same team that worked on Get Even, so our hopes for Chernobylite is quite high. Interestingly, the game doesn’t just promise a thrilling survival horror adventure, but will also involve conspiracy, love and obsession
Technical issues aside, Silent Hill: Downpour lacks the atmosphere of earlier titles in the series. The scares just isn’t there and while the monster encounters have been toned down considerably the combat is still clunky and the creatures uninspiring. I had fun with the game, but it could have been so much better.
Gameplay: Let down by technical issues and a lack of scares.
Graphics: Looking very dated.
Sound: Good but not great
It might not be by Konami but Climax has treated the license with respect and crafted a game worthy of the Silent Hill moniker. Some people might be put of by the more action centric gameplay but stick with it and you’ll find plenty to enjoy.
Gameplay: Some very good puzzles but a bit clunky in places.
Graphics: Very good for the PSP.
Sound: Deserves to be played with earphones
