Tales Of Aravorn: Seasons Of The Wolf Available For PC, Mac And Linux

Anyone relying on Steam as their sole source of new releases will find themselves missing out on “Tales Of Aravorn: Seasons Of The Wolf” from Winter Wolves. This title is a turn based roleplaying game that takes place in the same fantasy world as the previous Winter Wolves hit, Loren the Amazon Princess.

Taking place over the course of one year, the game tells the story of twins from a far-away village called Ninim. As either Shea or Althea you’ll get to experience storylines and side quests where your choices will influence the end of the game.

The game also features a unique cast of characters for your party members, including the ex-mercenary Vaelis, a barbarian named Krimm, Chalassa the assassin, Jariel the bard and Rowinda the warlock. As is customary for a Winter Wolves title you can also start a relationship with one of your party members if you play your cards right. The romance options caters to all tastes, as is usual for titles from this developer.

With 9 different classes, complete with their own skill sets and a large selection of enemies to engage in turn-based tactical battles this might be the biggest Winter Wolves title yet. The game features many tweaks to the battle system to make things even more challenging than what they were in Loren the Amazon Princess. This includes the view which is now left to right and larger sprites for both party members and foes.

Another eye catching improvement over Loren is the inclusion of an isometric map that is divided into several zones. This allows for greater freedom when it comes to exploration and also increases the sense of immersion offered by the game.

With four acts, split into seasons, and a storyline themed around deceit this certainly looks like a title that will please fans of the genre. Although only releasing on Steam and mobile devices somewhere around early/late January 2015 you can already purchase a copy straight from the developer. The game is out on PC, Mac and Linux, so head over to the official site and grab the free demo to get a taste of what to expect before you buy a copy.

Looks good but I’ll wait for the Steam version to come out. Might be a discount by then too.

To anyone saying b.b.bbut Dragon Age. By the time that you are done with this game you’ll be able to play DA with all the patches that make it semi playable (if current trends in AA gaming is anything to go by)
