Sci-fi Survival Horor Game Chernobylite Heading For PCs and Consoles

There’s never been a better time for fans of survival horror games and one of the upcoming additions to this popular genre is Chernobylite from The Farm 51. This is the same team that worked on Get Even, so our hopes for Chernobylite is quite high. Interestingly, the game doesn’t just promise a thrilling survival horror adventure, but will also involve conspiracy, love and obsession.

The game takes place 30 years after the Chernobyl nuclear catastrophe as your character ventures into the dangerous Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Not only is the area still radiated, but there is talk of mysterious happenings involving the paranormal as well. However, your character is determined to find their missing girlfriend and figure out the secret behind her disappearance.

There are a couple of things about Chernobylite that has got us quite excited for its release. First, the developers have used an accurate 3D-scanned recreation of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, which will be brought to life using the power of the Unreal Engine 4. In addition to the military presence in the area, you will also have to deal with a number of savage creatures as well as the scavenging stalkers. You can actually choose whether you want to collaborate or compete with the other stalkers of the Zone, but seeing as everybody has a hidden agenda, you should probably watch your back at all times. The game isn’t just about facing off against natural and supernatural threats either. You will also have to investigate and collect data using the sophisticated tools at your disposal. Staying undetected probably offers the best chance for survival, but you will have to craft your own gear and weapons for protection.

Chernobylite is currently under development, but will be coming to PCs as well as consoles soon. PC owners who can’t wait for the blend of free exploration, unique crafting and non-linear storytelling can head on over to the Steam Store and add the game to their wishlist.
