Baaad Trip Turns Sheep Herding Into a Chaotic Co-Op Adventure

Solo developer Launchpad Studios has revealed Baaad Trip, a playful co-op adventure about attempting to guide a flock of unpredictable sheep home without losing too many of them, or your patience, along the way.

Coming to PC via Steam, Baaad Trip can be played alone or with up to four players. The destination may sound straightforward, but the flock has ideas of its own. Sheep can panic, scatter and become separated from the group, turning even a seemingly simple stretch of countryside into a potential comedy of errors.

Players will need to navigate using a map and compass rather than following a trail of glowing objective markers. Choosing a route is part of the challenge, as rivers, cliffs, narrow passes and open fields each present different risks. A shorter path may save time, but it could also make keeping the flock together considerably more difficult.

The journey is not limited to walking and hoping for the best. Resources can be gathered along the way, while trees can be cut down to provide materials for bridges, ramps and makeshift paths. In multiplayer, this should allow groups to divide responsibilities between scouting ahead, gathering supplies, building a safe route and dealing with whichever sheep has decided to wander off at the worst possible moment.

Reaching checkpoints provides access to useful tools and upgrades intended to make later stages of the trip more manageable. The Steam page teases equipment such as a chainsaw, along with the possibility of adding a llama to the travelling party. Whether either of those things makes the flock easier to control remains to be seen, but they certainly suit the game’s deliberately chaotic tone.

The announcement trailer leans into that humour, showing sheep tumbling down slopes, becoming stranded and generally refusing to behave like orderly quest objectives. It gives Baaad Trip the feel of a cooperative problem-solving game where careful planning can be undone in seconds by an especially determined animal.

Launchpad Studios is the work of a Paris-based solo developer, making the scale of the physics-driven co-op concept particularly notable. The game is being developed and published independently, and its colourful low-poly environments help give the project a clear visual identity without distracting from the sheep-induced mayhem.

Although the premise is inherently silly, the combination of route planning, resource management and construction could give the game more substance than a simple physics sandbox. Success appears to depend on communication and preparation as much as quick reactions, especially when several players are trying to keep track of a flock spread across dangerous terrain.

Baaad Trip does not currently have a confirmed release date, with its Steam page listing it simply as “Coming soon.” Players interested in helping a small independent project gain visibility can wishlist the game now and watch the announcement trailer below.
