Capcom TGS 2026 Roundup: Mega Man, Monster Hunter, Dragon’s Dogma and More

Capcom TGS 2026 Roundup: Mega Man, Monster Hunter, Dragon’s Dogma and More

Capcom used its Tokyo Game Show 2026 Spotlight to deliver updates across several of its biggest series, including new Mega Man: Dual Override gameplay, a free crossover for PRAGMATA, Teostra’s return in Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance and a fresh look at Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen.

The presentation aired on September 16 ahead of Tokyo Game Show 2026, which runs from September 17–21. While the broadcast covered everything from esports to the Resident Evil anniversary, the most substantial announcements concerned Capcom’s current and upcoming games.

Mega Man and Proto Man Share the Spotlight

Mega Man: Dual Override director Shinya Ikuta and producer Hiroyuki Minamitani offered a closer look at the next mainline entry in the long-running series.

Proto Man will join Mega Man as the game’s second playable character. Capcom also introduced the Custom Chip and Override systems, which are intended to give players additional ways to modify their abilities and approach different challenges.

The footage suggests that Dual Override will retain the precision platforming and pattern-based boss encounters associated with the series while expanding the amount of control players have over their chosen loadout.

Mega Man: Dual Override is scheduled to launch in spring 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

PRAGMATA Receives Free Mega Man DLC

Mega Man is also crossing into Capcom’s lunar science-fiction adventure PRAGMATA through a free DLC pack.

The Mega Man Pack contains two sets of Mega Man and Roll-inspired outfits for Hugh and Diana, along with additional gestures and background music. It is being released as free content on September 16.

Capcom has also placed PRAGMATA on sale for the first time, with a temporary 20% discount across supported platforms. The game is available for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.

Teostra Returns in Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance

The extended Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance trailer confirmed that Teostra will return when the large-scale expansion launches in 2027.

The fire-breathing Elder Dragon was the most immediately recognisable reveal, but Capcom also provided more information about the Boost Bracer. The new equipment is designed to enhance combat with additional actions and movement options, with each weapon receiving its own boosted techniques.

Several useful quality-of-life improvements are arriving alongside the expansion. Hunters will be able to swap weapons more quickly without first mounting a Seikret and change equipment outside their tent by using an Item Box.

Capcom confirmed that these interface and equipment improvements will also be added to the base version of Monster Hunter Wilds, rather than being restricted to expansion owners.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is planned for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. The base game will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, 2026.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Prepares for October

A new Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen trailer focused on the expansion’s story, enemies and snowy Norgan region ahead of its October 9 release.

Players can experiment with the expansion’s additional character-creation options through an updated version of the standalone Dragon’s Dogma 2: Character Creation & Storage tool. Characters made with the new options cannot be used in the main game until Dark Arisen launches, but they can be prepared in advance.

Capcom is also adding new Official Pawns created by partners from around the world. These companions will be available while players investigate Norgan and attempt the 12 Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launches on October 9, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. Existing PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S owners will be able to purchase the expansion separately.

Street Fighter 6 Adds Arjun in October

Arjun will become the second fighter in Street Fighter 6’s Year 4 roster on October 13.

The newcomer uses Martial Yoga breathing techniques to create projectiles and traps, while several of his abilities inflict recoverable damage when blocked. Capcom also revealed an elegant new Outfit 4 for C. Viper, which will arrive on the same day.

Looking further ahead, Tifa from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series is planned for early 2027, followed by Bosch in spring 2027.

The presentation additionally highlighted the new Street Fighter League season, the ongoing Capcom Pro Tour and several Resident Evil 30th-anniversary events. These include exhibitions, concerts and a Resident Evil Requiem horror maze at Universal Studios Japan, although no new game announcement accompanied that portion of the show.

Taken together, the showcase provided Capcom with a busy opening to Tokyo Game Show. Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen and Arjun are now only weeks away, while Mega Man: Dual Override and Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance continue to build towards their respective 2027 launches.
