Geometry Rift: Apocalypse Free Demo Brings Neon Bullet Heaven to Steam

The free demo for Geometry Rift: Apocalypse is now available on Steam. Developed by father-and-son team Víctor and Álex Vergara of Dad & Son Games, the neon-soaked bullet heaven lets players choose a ship, dodge swarms of geometric enemies, and pile on upgrades until their build threatens to overwhelm the screen.

Weapons and power-ups include lasers, bombs, chain lightning, shields, black holes, and the ability to freeze time. Players can let their ship fire automatically while concentrating on movement, or switch to manual twin-stick controls to aim every shot. The full game is planned to feature 18 unlockable ships, four worlds with bosses and special challenges, local two-player co-op and an endless mode.

There is a personal story behind the arcade chaos. Víctor and Álex have been making the game together under the Dad & Son Games label, and Víctor composed its soundtrack under his demoscene alias, Awesome. The developers say they are using the demo to gather feedback ahead of the full release.

Geometry Rift: Apocalypse is listed for Q1 2027 on Steam, where the free demo can be downloaded now. See the screenshots below, and check out the official trailer.
