Graveyard Keeper 2 Is Out Now on PC and Consoles

Graveyard Keeper 2, the sequel to Lazy Bear Games’ delightfully inaccurate medieval cemetery-management simulator, is now available on PC and consoles.

This time, players step into the role of the Grand Inquisitor and are tasked with restoring the Town while contending with a full-scale zombie apocalypse. That means the familiar graveyard management, resource gathering and morally questionable business practices are joined by town reconstruction, fortifications and direct battles against hordes of undead.

The graveyard remains central to the experience. Players can gather flora, fauna and human remains, construct new machinery and develop increasingly elaborate production chains. Automation has been expanded, allowing undead workers to shoulder much of the repetitive labour while the Keeper concentrates on expanding the operation and maximising its profits.

Running a successful cemetery is only one part of the job, however. The Town has been overrun, and reclaiming it requires players to lead their own undead army into battle. Towers, barricades and other defensive structures can be constructed, while weapons and armour can be crafted to equip zombie troops before sending them into combat.

Lazy Bear Games says the battles are integrated into the wider progression rather than existing as an isolated mode. Liberated districts can be repopulated and rebuilt, with homes, businesses and market stalls returning as players restore the settlement. Different sections of the Town also present their own objectives, ranging from holding positions against waves of enemies to advancing through the streets and capturing control points.

The sequel also expands the original game’s automation systems. Graveyard Keeper can assign zombies to workshops and production tasks, turning local rebuilding efforts into a considerably more efficient—and profitable—operation. Townsfolk will provide quests and problems to solve, although helping them is naturally presented as another opportunity for the Grand Inquisitor to make money.

Players who spent time with the pre-release demo will not need to begin again. According to tinyBuild, demo save files carry over into the full release.

The original Graveyard Keeper became known for combining a farming and management-game structure with dark humour, corpse processing and an unapologetically cynical view of capitalism. Its sequel retains that macabre foundation while broadening the scope with a larger Town, improved production systems and considerably more combat.

Graveyard Keeper 2 launched on 22 September 2026 for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. The PC version is available through Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store.

Carrying demo save files over into the full release is a considerate choice, since it removes the usual reluctance to replay an opening that has already been worked through. It also turns the demo into more than a sampler, because time spent there now counts toward real progress. The open question is whether any balance changes between the demo and launch could leave older saves slightly out of step with a fresh start.
