Lifeless Planet Returns To Kickstarter In Film Format

Lifeless Planet Returns To Kickstarter In Film Format

Players who couldn’t get enough of the intriguing indie title, Lifeless Planet, will be pleased to hear that it is heading back to Kickstarter. It won’t be a sequel to the game that was successfully funded on Kickstarter in 2011 and released in 2014, or indeed even a game, but a film project instead.

The live-action adaption is set to be created by Stage 2 Studios and Wayside Creations. The storyline and stunning scenery of Lifeless Planet lends itself perfect to a film and if successfully funded will serve as a prequel to game.

This won’t be the first time that Wayside Creations has worked with game developers on adaptions, and already count two seasons of Fallout: Nuka Break as well as Fallout: Red Star amongst their success stories. Lifeless Planet was a labor of love for its creator, David Board, and he has signed onto the film project as a producer. According to David it was their proven track record of knowing how to re-tell a video game story in live-action format while keeping it interesting that made him decide on Wayside Creations.

Anyone yet to experience the game can buy the DRM-free version, which comes with a Steam key, directly from the developer website. It’s currently on sale, so there is no better time than now to grab a copy. The game is also currently In the process of being ported to the Xbox One.

The Kickstarter for the film project will run from now until November 10th 2014. There are multiple pledge levels available with rewards such as a PDF version of the screenplay, commemorative Lifeless Planet mission patch and even a one day visit to the set up for grabs.
