Scarlet Hood and the Wicked Wood

Scarlet Hood and the Wicked Wood

Scarlet Hood and the Wicked Wood is a great story-driven adventure with plenty of puzzles and beautiful visuals. The game also incorporates some action elements, such as evading enemies and hiding from a big bad wolf. However, its stand-out feature is how each area of the game can be completed in different ways, each with its own unique puzzles. This boosts the replay value considerably and provides extra incentive to unlock the different endings. It’s not the most challenging game on the market, but it is a lot of fun and we enjoyed it from start to finish.

Gameplay: An interesting combination of point & click adventure, visual novel, and side scroller.

Graphics: Beautiful hand-illustrated visuals with vibrant colors and detailed backgrounds.

Sound: The soundtrack is good, but only the cut-scenes feature voice-overs

9-nine-:Episode 4

9-nine-:Episode 4

9-Nine-: Episode 4 returns players once more to the college town of Shiromitsugawa where Kakeru Niimi and his gang of artifact users battle a threat from a different dimension. This episode upholds the same high standards as the rest of the series and the story really is an emotional rollercoaster. It’s not the best place to get started with the series, but fans of the previous episodes won’t want to miss out on this one.

Gameplay: Very engrossing and packed with humor, action, and drama.

Graphics: The character sprites and CGs are still some of the best in the genre.

Sound: Great voice acting and a solid soundtrack

Alien Scumbags

Alien Scumbags

Alien Scumbags is an action-packed platform shooter filled with action, blood, gore, and pop culture easter eggs. It’s short enough to complete in one session, but the low asking price coupled with the high replay value makes it a no-brainer for fans of the genre.

Gameplay: Lots of monsters to shoot and secrets to find.

Graphics: A nice throwback to the era of pixel art platformers.

Sound: Great music, sound effects, and voice acting

Cat Goes Fishing

Cat Goes Fishing

Cat Goes Fishing is a simple fishing game featuring a bunch of fish with different behaviors. As players catch and sell fish they earn enough cash and experience to upgrade their gear and go after even bigger species. The game can be very grindy at times and catching some of the fish on “Realism” mode might make you want to pull your hair out, but overall it’s a decent game. It’s not the best looking or sounding fishing game on the market, but it is easy to pick up and play. Beware, though, as it is also easy to get hooked and spent hours trying to catch some of the more elusive fish.

Gameplay: Simple, but quite addictive.

Graphics: Nothing to write home about, but the 2D sprites are not without charm.

Sound: Decent enough, but eventually the music does become repetitive
