SNK Releases Two New Retro Titles On Steam

Retro game fans are in for a treat as SNK has just released both NEOGEO POCKET COLOR Selection Vol. 1 and SNK VS. Capcom: The Match of the Millenium on Steam. The Neo Geo Pocket Color was released in the late nineties and was home to a great selection of games, with most produced by SNK themselves. Now, for the first time, Steam users can delve into a selection of ten classic Neo Geo titles. Along with the games listed below, this collection also allows players to view 3D models of the games and their cartridges. Some of the games also support two-player local co-op and are compatible with the Steam Remote Play Together feature

Not a bad bunch of titles, but the “remixed” visuals is a joke and the touch-screen controls are not not all they could have been. If you are a retro fan, chances are you’ll have most of these titles already so all in all this is a compilation that can be safely ignored.

Gameplay: Some games are more fun than others, but overall the quality is a bit rough.

Graphics: Whoever thought that getting graffiti artists to do the “remixed” graphics made a terrible mistake.

Sound: Faithful to the originals at least

Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles

Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles

Having to unlock the best game in the compilation (imo) sucks but for the rest this is a great compilation and really a slice of history as well. Castlevania fans should be in seventh heaven with this title and all platform fans should pray for more releases of this quality.

Gameplay: Tough as nails but well worth persevering as the rewards are good.

Graphics: The remake is looking good and SOTN is still awesome.

Sound: Good music is synonymous with Castlevania games
