Sunblaze is a precision platformer offering six challenging chapters of action, with some goofy humor and a charming protagonist. The game is unforgiving but fair, so it always feels like victory is just one more attempt away from attaining. The developers have also included enough “accessibility” options to ensure players of any skill level can enjoy the game. As with all games in this genre, Sunblaze can sometimes be frustrating, but the feeling of overcoming its challenges is worth the blood, sweat, and tears.

Gameplay: You will die frequently, but it’s hard not to give each level just one more try.

Graphics: The game features beautiful pixel art visuals and neat themes for each chapter.

Sound: Sunblaze has decent music and sound effects

Hoa is a puzzle platformer with beautiful hand-painted art and a moving piano soundtrack that is a perfect match for the relaxing gameplay. It’s not a very challenging game, apart from the last level where the difficulty ramps up rather unexpectedly, but it is very enjoyable. The subject and style mean this is not going to be a game for everyone, but Studio Ghibli fans will love the aesthetic of Hoa, and it is hard not to be charmed by the presentation.

Gameplay: Very easy, but great casual players and newcomers to the genre.

Graphics: The art and animations are top-notch.

Sound: The soundtrack and sound effects are incredible

Taking control of a stranded space traveler named Lunaris, players must embark on a dangerous journey to find rare energy crystals. Greak: Memories of Azur is a charming puzzle platformer with the unique premise of being able to control three characters at once. This gimmick definitely has its moments where it shines, but it can become a little cumbersome for many parts of the game. Nevertheless, the beautiful hand-drawn visuals and orchestral soundtrack make for a memorable experience, and the game is still a lot of fun despite the occasional frustrating bits.

Gameplay: Controlling three characters at once is fun at times but often a little cumbersome.

Graphics: The game has beautiful backgrounds and great hand-drawn animations.

Glyph is a 3D platformer where players control a small golden scarab on a quest to save the world. Using its ability to jump and glide, players must guide Glyph through various levels collecting coins, gems, keys, and more. Precision platforming is required to avoid touching the sand, which causes instant death, but conquering a level is a gratifying experience. In addition to the exploration levels, each of which features a secret skin to find, the game also has Time Trial levels for adrenaline thrillseekers. The lack of checkpoints and instant deaths can be frustrating, but Glyph is addictive enough to keep you coming back for more.

Gameplay: Easy to learn, but some of the levels will really push your limits.

Graphics: Minimal but beautiful environments.

Sound: The soundtrack and sound effects are superb
