Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance: Evolution Brings the War to Canada
Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance has expanded its war against Legion with Evolution, a new single-player campaign DLC now available on Steam.
The expansion sends Lieutenant Church and the Resistance north into the frozen territories of Canada, where Legion has established mining operations and experimental research facilities. What begins as a search for allies and resources leads to the discovery of a new generation of killing machines designed for close-quarters combat.
Evolution contains eight campaign missions spanning frozen forests, industrial mines and Legion-controlled facilities. The campaign introduces sabotage operations, defensive sieges and full-scale assaults while continuing the stories of Church, Silas and 1462.
Among the most dangerous new machines are the Rev 6.5 units, nicknamed Rippers by the Resistance. Their bladed limbs and rapid assault systems allow them to pursue targets and engage at close range, forcing human forces to adapt their usual tactics.
Humanity is beginning to change as well. The Integrators have developed augmentation technology capable of improving muscle fibres, reflexes and neural connections. This provides the Resistance with hybrid soldiers able to confront Legion’s machines more directly, although the uneasy alliance surrounding the technology also creates a struggle over what humanity should become.
The DLC adds melee combat to Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance alongside new units and technologies for both sides of the conflict. Its mixture of augmented humans and increasingly specialised machines expands the tactical options beyond those found in the original campaign.
Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance is a real-time strategy game set within the future-war timeline established by the 2019 film. Rather than controlling a single heavily armed action hero, players command squads and vehicles across large tactical battlefields where positioning, ammunition, damage and unit preservation all matter.
Evolution is the third major expansion released for the game, following We Are Legion and Uprising. While those additions explored different sides and structures within the wider conflict, the latest campaign returns its attention to Church and the Resistance as both humanity and Legion pursue increasingly transformative technologies.
The expansion requires the base game and is available now through Steam. Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance and Evolution were developed and published by Slitherine.
