Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos Passes 200,000 Sales as Console Versions Enter Development

Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos has passed 200,000 copies sold following its full Steam release, and developer NANOO is now preparing to take the roguelite action RPG to consoles.

The milestone arrives a little over a year after the game entered Steam Early Access on May 19, 2025. It needed roughly one month to reach its first 100,000 sales before continuing through Early Access and launching in full on May 26, 2026.

Its path to 200,000 began even earlier at Steam Next Fest in February 2025, where Tower of Babel ranked among the event’s 50 most-played demos. The subsequent Early Access launch also earned it a Bronze-tier place among Steam’s top releases for May 2025, based on global revenue.

NANOO says the game has found particularly strong audiences among English-, Chinese- and Korean-speaking players, with additional support from its communities in Japan and Taiwan.

Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos combines the escalating enemy waves and build experimentation of a survivor game with the persistent equipment hunt of a hack-and-slash RPG. Players level up and select skills during each ascent while collecting weapons and armor with randomized attributes.

The equipment survives the end of a run, allowing characters to become permanently stronger while players refine their builds and attempt to climb higher. New gear also changes a character’s appearance, giving the loot system a visible component alongside its statistical upgrades.

During its year in Early Access, NANOO expanded the game in response to player feedback. The full release added new characters, stages and a final boss, as well as the Dual Boss Arena, Distorted Floors and the endgame Final Greed enhancement system.

The next major step will be a move beyond PC. NANOO has confirmed that console versions are in development, although it has not yet announced which platforms they will target or when they will arrive. The existing PC version will continue receiving updates in the meantime.

The developer is also working on additional projects based on the Tower of Babel universe, suggesting the 200,000-sales mark may become the foundation for a broader series. No details about those projects have been disclosed yet.

Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos is currently available for Windows and macOS through Steam.
