White Shadows is a visually striking cinematic platformer that combines dystopian themes with monochromatic noir visuals. Although comparisons to Limbo and Inside are unavoidable, the game succeeds in creating a world that feels distinct. Unfortunately, its simplistic gameplay and brief runtime prevent it from reaching the same heights as its inspirations. Still, players who enjoy atmospheric journeys and symbolic storytelling should find plenty to appreciate.

Gameplay: The platforming and puzzles are enjoyable enough, but lack the challenge and ingenuity of its inspirations.

Tying together a love triangle between a jazz singer, saxophone player, and watch peddler with the big bang sounds like something that shouldn’t work, yet Genesis Noir pulls it off. From the noir visual style and beautiful jazz soundtrack to the surreal locations and dreamlike feel of the game, there is much to praise about Genesis Noir. However, it is also not a game that will appeal to everyone, especially those who prefer traditional titles over more experimental ones like this. It is certainly a wild ride, though, and open-minded players will have a blast soaking up the psychedelic atmosphere of this game.

Gameplay: Genesis Noir is very simple to play but also fun.

Graphics: The visuals in this game are beautiful and unique.

Splatter – Zombiecalypse Now is a film-noir-style top-down shooter starring a trench-coat and fedora-wearing protagonist on a quest to kill lots of zombies. The game doesn’t skimp on the blood and gore but can become slightly repetitive. However, plenty of guns, enemies, and destructible environments ensure there’s never a dull moment. If you are a fan of the genre, then this game should keep you interested to the end.

Gameplay: Hordes of monsters to kill and plenty of different environments.

Graphics: The game contains lots of blood and gore.

Sound: The voice acting is a bit ropey, but everything else sounds good
