Visual novel fans should already be very familiar with the Narcissu titles, a series that wasn’t afraid to explore themes about terminal illness and the relationship between the living and dying. If not, Narcissu 1st & 2nd is available as a free download from Steam and comes highly recommended. However, Sekai Project have decided to team up with Stage-nana, the original creators, and do a full remake of the Narcissu anthology. Fans have been waiting years for the rest of the Narcissu series to be translated and, if the Kickstarter campaign is successful, this will finally happen.

Sekai Project and Stage-nana plans on releasing the fully-recreated series of games as well as a brand new scenario on PC. The good news is that fans won’t have to wait very long for this to happen either as the goal is for have these titles available within a 6-month time frame! With 2015 marking the 10th anniversary of the original game Sekai Project decided that it is about time that loyal fans are rewarded with a definitive anthology of the series.

The complete anthology will include the origin story of the 7th Floor, a separate side story set in medieval Europe, a short epilogue for Narcissue 2 and also an entirely new chapter in the Narcissue series. All the visual novels will come with brand new art and re-recorded voices. According to Sekai Project, “Himeko’s Epilogue” will be available as early as late November, with the other titles expected to be completed in December, January and February.

Sekai Project has already pushed $60,000 into the project and bulk of the additional $75,000 goal on Kickstarter will be used for voice licenses, new voice recording and the work required for the brand new chapter. A $20 pledge is enough to secure digital copies of all four games, which will be lower than the future retail price, but there are additional goodies to tempt fans. These include a digital copy of a Narcissue Visual Fanbook with author comments and bonus material, limited edition physical disc of Narcissu 1+2, T-shirt and tapestry. One of the pledges even include a dinner with Tomo Kataoka, creator of the series, at Anime Expo 2016 in Los Angeles!

Lode Runner Legacy (Tozai Games, Inc.)

From Donkey Kong and Dig Dug to Gauntlet and Gradius, the 1980s were a golden era for classic video-game franchises. One of these franchises is Lode Runner, which was first released for the Apple II in 1983 and quickly moved on to other platforms. Its action-packed, yet puzzle-oriented gameplay made it an instant hit and even people like Alexey Pajitnov counted it amongst their favorite puzzle titles. Although there hasn’t been a shortage of new releases over the years, the last appearance of Lode Runner was back in 2012 on Android and iOS. Thankfully, this is about to change with the upcoming release of Lode Runner Legacy for PC.
