If you have fond memories of the Blade Runner adventure game released for PC by Westwood back in 1997 then you might want to sit up and take notice of Ama’s Lullaby. It is a point & click adventure featuring a command-line based hacking game by solo developer, Mercy Ground Creations. The game is currently in the final hours of its Kickstarter campaign and with only three days to go time is running out to become a backer.

Ama’s Lullaby will cast players in the role of Ama, a teenager living on a colony that was constructed for humanity on another planet using machines. The purpose of the colony was to safeguard humanity after the announcement that an asteroid is on a potential collision course with Earth. However, there is obviously more to the story than this and players will help Ama uncover what is really going on. This will be done via traditional point-and-click adventure game methods as players guide Ama around the colony to interact with the human and non-human inhabitants. Mercy Ground Creations also promises that you’ll get to make decisions that can impact the course of events and that all your actions will have consequences. This also comes into play with the hacking feature, where the information and confidential data that you are able to access can potentially be used to blackmail people.

Besides the great looking cyberpunk environments of the game we are looking forward to seeing the dialog system of Ama’s Lullaby in action. According to the developer, you’ll have to pick your questions carefully and anticipate the consequences as your choices are all examined by the system to determine how they influence the NPCs. It will also be interesting to see how the promise of NPCs who show different reactions from one game session to another looks in action. This can really boost the replay value of the game, which is something you’ll want to do thanks to the several possible endings that are promised.

Ama’s Lullaby definitely sounds like an ambitious project for a solo developer, but from what we have seen so far it has the potential to be great. Head on over to the Kickstarter page for more information about the game as well as the rewards, which includes a limited print artbook, game soundtrack, cyberpunk postcards, and limited Cyberpunk USB drive. Everyone who has ever dealt with depression will know what a battle it can be to overcome. This is the situation in which Cassidy, the protagonist of Dreamscaper, finds herself, except in her case it is somewhat more literal. Cassidy actually has the ability to dive into her subconscious and take on the surreal nightmares that she wrestles with. It's a pretty unique premise for a game and one of the reasons why we suggest checking out the Kickstarter for Dreamcaper by Afterburner Studios. Dreamscaper is an upcoming ARPG Roguelite blend that promises to combine elements from brawlers as well as top-down shooters, and dungeon crawlers.

Mystic Destinies: Serendipity of Aeons By Star Maiden Games

We’ve noticed a lot of otome visual novels popping up lately and, judging by the speed at which Mystic Destinies is getting funded on Kickstarter, there is definitely a demand for more. This urban fantasy otome visual novel focusses on the tale of a college girl who finds out that she isn’t quite as ordinary as she thought. The game is being developed by Star Maiden Games, a new start-up visual novel company who aim to make their mark on the genre with high quality, compelling titles. The team also have their sights on busting the usual genre tropes, which should be interesting.

The Last Faith by Kumi Souls

As much as we loved Bloodstained; Ritual of the Night there was still a small part of us that wished the visuals retained the beautiful pixel art style of Symphony of the Night. It looks like we were not the only ones either as The Last Faith - a dark Gothic Metroidvania by Kumi Souls Games was 100% funded in just 2 days. The Last Faith will allow players to discover the secrets of a decadent world where an ancient religion is the law, but they will have to face horrific beasts to subvert a hidden prophecy.
