Mystic Destinies: Serendipity of Aeons By Star Maiden Games

We’ve noticed a lot of otome visual novels popping up lately and, judging by the speed at which Mystic Destinies is getting funded on Kickstarter, there is definitely a demand for more. This urban fantasy otome visual novel focusses on the tale of a college girl who finds out that she isn’t quite as ordinary as she thought. The game is being developed by Star Maiden Games, a new start-up visual novel company who aim to make their mark on the genre with high quality, compelling titles. The team also have their sights on busting the usual genre tropes, which should be interesting.

According to the developers, Serendipity of Aeons is about a nineteen-year old girl who finds her world turned upside down when she discovers that she is actually a being called a homunculus. It turns out that she was created in her mother’s image with the purpose of serving as a transfer for her curse of immortality along with her powers. With her newly awakened magical powers, your character discovers about a whole supernatural world around her and that her fellow classmates are not all human either!

Mystic Destinies: Serendipity of Aeons will be available on mobile devices and possibly also Steam. The developers plan on releasing the prologue along with the first chapter for free and selling the rest of the content in episodic format. Being an otome visual novel, the game will feature five guys for your character to romance and multiple endings depending on your choices. There are also some other possibilities in the pipeline, such as a customizable skin tone for the main character and the possibility of her personality developing based on your choices, but these all depend on the funding achieved.

The game definitely sounds very promising with its unique setting where all myths are real. The developers are also promising that the fantasy elements will take the story to new heights and that it will feature some action scenes as well. At the time of writing Mystic Destinies is already 75% funded with 30 days to go, so the chance of success is looking pretty good.
