Upcoming Dead or Alive 6 Will Feature SNK Collaboration

The release of Dead or Alive 6 is just around the corner and it sounds like Team NINJA already has a lot of ambitious plans for it. There were a couple of exciting announcements made by them at EVO Japan 2019, such as the pre-launch of a Deluxe Demo as well as the Dead or Alive World Championship, which is a new eSports venture. However, the announcement that caught our attention is the collaboration with SNK for the first DOA6 Season Pass.

Dead or Alive six will be released worldwide on March 1, 2019, for Playstation 4, Xbox One, as well as Steam. However, Playstation 4 and Xbox One owners will be able to get an early peak at the game thanks to the Deluxe Demo, which will be playable from February 22 until February 24, 2019 in North America. The demo will be exclusive for Playstation PLUS subscribers and Xbox Live Gold members. In addition to online ranked and lobby matches, the Deluxe Demo will also feature the Free Training, Tutorial, Command Training, and Combo Challenge modes, along with an introduction to Story mode. Even better, all 24 of the characters that are available at launch will be featured in the demo along with all their hairstyles and glasses.

Dead or Alive fans should also be very excited about the announcement of the upcoming Dead or Alive World Championship. Qualifiers for this event will take place in North America, Europe as well as Asia in order to find the best of the best. It is only the top players that will have the honor of competing at the Grand Finals in Japan, and with a total prize equivalent of 10 Million Yen for the qualifiers and Grand Finals, it’s definitely going to be competitive.

Finally, there has been confirmation that a collaboration with SNK’s The King of Fighters XIV is definitely happening. Two fighters from the SNK franchise will be joining the Dead or Alive 6 roster in June as guest characters. While one of these characters is still a surprise, the other one will be Mai Shiranui, who is not only a fan favorite, but also a character who fits in perfectly with the Dead or Alive cast. Both the SNK characters will be available as separate purchases, but can also be grabbed as part of the Season 1 Pass, which will be available from the start of March. As is usual for the DOA series, the Season 1 pass will also include a slew of brand new costumes for all the characters.
