Die After Sunset Coming Soon To Steam Early Access
PQube and developer Playstark recently announced their partnership in bringing Die After Sunset to Early Access soon on Steam. The game is a chaotic, fast-paced third-person rogue-lite shooter that challenges players to battle alien forces. Die After Sunset stars a rookie trooper named April Blazestrong who is trapped in a time loop. If April is killed at any point while attempting to liberate the planet from the mysterious invading alien force the loop resets. After the reset, April is sent back to the beginning and wakes up back in her bed in her apartment. Fortunately, she has dozens of items, gear, abilities, and perks to synergize together on each run to become as powerful as possible before the sun sets.
The title of the game refers to the fact that the aliens you face are adorable and clumsy in daylight, but transform into vicious intergalactic beats in the shadows. Each run also has a countdown to gigantic boss battles for which you definitely want to be as prepared as possible. Each run in Die After Sunset is completely unique, including the procedurally generated challenges, the perks and abilities you can earn, and the chests available to loot. Players can also farm mucus during missions, which can then be spent in the Overworld hub to control their meta-progression. Your characters, tech, and weapons can be upgraded between runs, and the items, abilities, and playable characters you unlock will help to prepare you for the next showdown. Ideally, you want to complete all the levels in one clean run, but depending on your skill level it might take a few tries and upgrades before this becomes possible.
Die After Sunset will be coming to Steam Early Access later this year with two single-player levels followed by a free massive multiplayer update and many more arenas. Brand new levels, characters, game modes, and more will also be added regularly during the Early Access Period. The full release is set for 2022 when the game will also be released on console. Check out the announcement trailer for the game below and be sure to wishlist it on Steam if you like what you see. The developer, Playstark, can also be found on Twitter, as well as PQube, the publisher.
