Vote For Memory’s Dogma On Steam Greenlight

Visual novel fans will have noticed plenty of new titles appearing on Steam in recent months and this is mostly thanks to the work of Sekai Project. After very successful Kickstarters for The Grisaia Trilogy, CLANNAD, World End Economica, Fault Milestone One and more already under their belt, they are back with Memory’s Dogma.

Memory’s Dogma is an indie visual novel from Japan that has an interesting science-fiction twist. The story takes place in 2030 where technology has advanced to the point where human memories can be saved and recorded. However, the government has a virtual monopoly on this data and run facilities, called “Connect Centers” where people can communicate with the dead using their memories. The centers function as a means for grieving people to talk to their recently deceased loved ones only, as it is forbidden for humans who are still alive to have their memories recorded.

The story centers around a college student named Kusuhara Hiroki who is feeling suicidal after the sudden loss of Mizanashi Sorana, his close childhood friend. Since her memories will only be stored for a short period of time, Kusuhara along with another friend, hatches a plan to steal the data. However, the two discover that there is more to the Connect Centers than what meets the eye.

The story definitely sounds very intriguing and judging by the character profiles the game also features a very interesting cast. The Kickstarter page also showcases some very nice background artwork and according to the cost breakdown, the majority of the required funds will be spent on visuals. If the modest initial goal is reached there are also a couple of stretch goals in order to add full Japanese voice work to the game as well as additional animated scenes.

At the time of writing Memory’s Dogma is already close to 30% funded with almost a month left for the Kickstarter, so we are very optimistic about its chances. Check out the trailer for a glimpse of what the game is aiming for and then head over to the Kickstarter page for more information as well as the opening theme track. Don’t forget to vote for the game on Steam Greenlight either.

FlameFrost Legacy By Epic Dragon

In recent years we’ve seen indie developers take on some pretty ambitious projects, and pull it off, but Epic Dragon takes things to a whole new level. This indie outfit composes of only a programmer and artist, but these two guys plan on creating an MMORPG. We are not talking pixel art or retro art visuals either, but full-blown 3D and tons of detail. Even more amazing, they plan for the whole thing to run inside a modern browser without the need for any plug-ins to be installed first and for players to get in the game within seconds.

Tower Princess by AweKteaM

Remember the good old days when you could just storm a dungeon and rescue the princess? Well those days are well and truly behind us as modern princesses demand a little more from their would-be rescuers. At least, that's the premise behind this intriguing looking 3D action platformer by AweKteaM. Tower Princess will give players the opportunity to step into the armor of one of the knights and knightesses who are brave enough to take on the procedural dungeons.
