Lots of Summer Swag In Killing Floor 2: Perilous Plunder Update

Killing Floor 2 players have definitely been spoiled in regards to free content ever since the game was first launched and we are happy to report that Tripwire Interactive is continuing with this fine tradition. Today sees the release of the “Perilous Plunder” update for the game, which is available for PC via Steam. Console owners are not left out in the cold either as the update is also out for Playstation 4, Playstation 4 Pro, Xbox One, and Xbox One X.

The highlight of the Perilous Plunder update is the brand new community map, called Desolation. It’s a nice large map featuring a multi-level facility with the usual bloodstained rooms and hallways to clear. In addition to the expected hidden collectibles to track down this map also features a few optional mini-games for players. Desolation supports the usual survival, endless, weekly, and V.S game modes.

The summer zeds are making a return to the game with this update along with brand new Matriarch seasonal summer variants. Best of all, there are two new weapons for players to use against the zeds. One is the HRG Kaboomstick for the Demolitionist and the other is the HRG Telauncher for the Berserker. While these two weapons are completely free two brand new-weapons can also be purchased. These are the Single and Dual Glock 18 for the Gunslinger and the other is a Blunderbuss for the Support. Both of these paid weapon DLCs also come with 5 unique skins.

Speaking of skins, the five vault stars themed weapon skins make a return, and players can also purchase a brand new Space Pirate outfit for male or female characters. It comes with five additional texture variants, including hat and mask accessories. New Space Pirate themed cosmetics have also been added to the Summer Sideshow Seasonal ticket drops.

Overall, the Perilous Plunder update features a nice selection of free content for players as well as some nifty premium goodies for those who want to support the developers. The game is also on sale right now, so there’s no excuse to miss out on all the fun.
