New Game Based On Zorro The Chronicles Unveiled

Zorro has been around for more than a century and has a legacy that spans everything from films and television shows to radio dramas, comics, and even stage productions. There’s even been a couple of video games over the years, on platforms such as the Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, PC, Wii, and Nintendo DS. More recently, Zorro made an appearance as a DLC Guest Fighter in Go All Out! but now the dashing masked vigilante is getting his own game based on Zorro The Chronicles.

For those not familiar with the animated series, Zorro The Chronicles has been sold in over 100 countries and was even nominated at the 13th edition of the TV France International Export Awards. The game is being published by BTC Studios S.A and will feature a combination of combat and exploration. Set in nineteenth-century Spanish California players will be able to play as the legendary Zorro or his fearless sister Ines. The game promises to replicate the action and humor of the show, so players can expect to disarm enemies with a whip, sword, and spectacular moves. Of course, the ability to leave the ‘Z’ mark on them with the tip of your sword will also be featured in the game.

The game sees Don Diego de la Vega returning to California after five long years in Spain. He looks forward to returning to his peaceful town and seeing his father as well as his sister, Ines, again. Unfortunately, things are not the same as when he left. Instead, the town is ruled by Captain Monasterio, a man whose greed is rivaled only by his ambition. The once joyful community is now a place of oppression and hopelessness as those who cannot afford the exorbitant new taxes are sent to jail while their families are forced to work off the debt. While Don Diego cannot stand this injustice he knows that he stands no chance if he openly fights Monasterio and his soldiers. Thus he acts upon the old Spanish saying “If you can’t fight like a lion, become a fox” and dons the mantle of Zorro.

Over the course of the game, players will be able to develop their skills by unlocking better stats, new moves, and talismans. The swashbuckling combat will also feature hilarious yet spectacular finishing moves. It’s not just action-packed sword fights throughout, though, as players can also use stealth to take down opponents by surprise or sneak around them to explore the surroundings. Check out the teaser trailer for Zorro The Chronicles below and don’t forget to wishlist the game on Steam if you like what you see. In addition to PC, the game will also release on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, Switch, Mac, and Google Stadia this fall.
