Post-Apocalyptic Game Endzone Is Helping To Save The Real World

Fans of the city-builder genre should already be familiar with Endzone – A World Apart, which is currently in Early Access on Steam and in Development Phase on GOG. If not, then you are really missing out as the game has already sold over 100,000 copies worldwide. This is quite impressive for a title that entered Early Access on April 2, 2020. It’s not just good news for the game either, but also the planet as 22,000 of the total sales came from the Save the World Edition.

Assemble Entertainment has teamed up with an Eco-conscious organization called One Tree Planted as an official partner. The arrangement was that for every Save the World Edition of the game sold the non-profit would plant a tree on behalf of Assemble Entertainment. Obviously, this has translated into quite a few trees being planted as a direct result of the game. Endzone – A World Apart revolves around the destruction of the environment and civilization as we know it, so this good deed is definitely a bit tongue-in-cheek. However, Assemble has stated that the company is committed to making a difference in the real world in an effort to try and stave off a very real doomsday scenario.

According to Stefan Marcinek, CEO of Assemble Entertainment, the company hasn’t looked back since partnering with One Tree Planted. He noted that as fun as Endzone is to play, it could also be considered a grim reminder of where our own environment could be headed if we don’t take action. Stefan also expressed a desire to find more ways to give back within the themes of the various games in the expanding Assemble Entertainment roster. In total, Assemble Entertainment has helped to plant almost 30,000 trees which is going to make a big difference.

The wishlist campaign with One Tree Planted is still underway, so players purchasing the Save the World Edition of the game will help to ensure that more trees are planted. Endzone: A World Apart will also continue to receive major monthly updates until the full launch. Leading up to the game’s launch, players can look forward to new buildings, upgrades, system updates, content additions, and much more.
