The Fabled Woods Launching With DLSS and Ray Tracing Features

Headup has recently announced that the upcoming adventure game The Fabled Woods by CyberPunch Studios will be released on PC with DLSS and ray tracing features. The developers implemented DLSS by using the Unreal Engine 4 plug ‘n’ play plugin. This allows NVIDIA graphics cards, such as the GeForce RTX 3070 and up, to play the game with maxed-out settings and all ray tracing effects enabled at over 60 FPS at 4K resolutions.

Joe Bauer, the founder of CyberPunch Studios has stated that it was easy to add NVIDIA DLSS to the game thanks to the Unreal Engine 4 plugin and that it makes a substantial impact on performance. He also praised the plugin for opening DLSS up to a whole new world of developers.

The Fabled Woods will not only benefit from an increased frame rate, but also other features such as enhanced ray-traced foliage, reflections, and shadows. Joe Bauer explained that the goal was to launch the first game that can handle ray tracing foliage with over 1 million instances while still offering decent performance. He mentioned that all the trees cast ray traced shadows and all the water you can find in the woods have ray traced reflections. The Fabled Woods is only the second game worldwide to use RTX Global Illumination.
