Good news for fans of original and unique visual novels as Lupiesoft are back and this time they have Space Elves! For their latest title Lupiesoft turned their attention to the stars and created The Stargazers, a game inspired by 50s and 80s science fiction, pulp fiction and good old mecha anime. Unlike their previous titles this one is set to be a self-contained story and will follow the adventures of the Stargazers Squadron, a group of three pilots who are stationed in deep space.

While it is a visual novel about giant robots and star ships it is also a yuri title, so will focus on the relationship between the group of three girls from The Stargazers squadron. Their base of operations is the ADFSS Shooting Star, which is situated on the outer rim of one of the arms of the Milky Way Galaxy. It is their job to perform recon, patrol and rescue missions if required, but we are sure that trouble will also find the girls in this desolate region of space.

The Stargazers is currently on Steam Greenlight, so we recommend that fans of the genre head on over and cast a vote. Check out the trailer below and then visit the official website for more information about the characters. The Stargazers features the same unique art style and diverse cast that we have come to expect from Lupiesoft titles, so we are definitely looking forward to checking it out.

Looking at the previous releases of developer Camel 101 reveals two things. Firstly, they are definitely not lacking in ambition when it comes to their titles and secondly, they are getting better at what they do with each release. This is very evident in their upcoming release, Syndrome. The game opens with your character waking from cryosleep aboard the exploration and science ship, the Valkenburg. In true survival horror fashion, the shift is drifting through pace with the rest of the crew all dead or insane. You are required to get your bearings, find out what happened and figure out who you can trust.

Just like any 2D platform game with a shadow motif will probably be compared to Limbo for the foreseeable future, PONCHO is inevitable going to draw comparisons to Fez. From the title and vibrant pixel art visuals to the chiptune soundtrack and world shifting gameplay mechanics there are plenty of similarities. However, we spent some time playing this parallax platformer and it definitely has a unique identity of its own.

Dreamscaper by Afterburner Studios

Everyone who has ever dealt with depression will know what a battle it can be to overcome. This is the situation in which Cassidy, the protagonist of Dreamscaper, finds herself, except in her case it is somewhat more literal. Cassidy actually has the ability to dive into her subconscious and take on the surreal nightmares that she wrestles with. It's a pretty unique premise for a game and one of the reasons why we suggest checking out the Kickstarter for Dreamcaper by Afterburner Studios. Dreamscaper is an upcoming ARPG Roguelite blend that promises to combine elements from brawlers as well as top-down shooters, and dungeon crawlers.
