Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories

Disaster Report 4 is more about the human drama in the aftermath of a huge earthquake than survival, but it is still a very enjoyable experience. The tone of the game is all over the place and the gameplay lacks some polish, but a lot of times this just adds to the charm. This is definitely not a game for everyone, though, so make very sure you know what you are getting into before getting Disaster Report 4.

Gameplay: A unique and very unpredictable experience that lacks polish, but makes up for it with plenty of charm.

Graphics: There are a few epic scenes, but the animations are a little janky.

Sound: The voice-acting is Japanese only and the rest of the audio isn’t exactly memorable

Strange Brigade

Strange Brigade is an action-packed third-person shooter that is at its best when played in co-op with some friends. It features a nice assortment of characters, each with unique traits and a large variety of undead enemies to eradicate. The inclusion of traps makes for a fun addition to the experience, and the action also slows down occasionally for some puzzle-solving. While Strange Brigade doesn’t excel in any particular area, it’s still a lot of fun and comes highly recommended.

Gameplay: Strange Brigade features lots of action but is best enjoyed with friends in co-op.

Graphics: The visuals look great, but some more variety would have been even better.

Sound: The narrator steals the show, but the music and sound effects are good too

The Outer Worlds

The Outer Worlds combines some of the best elements from Fallout: New Vegas with a retro-futuristic pulp sci-fi setting. It features plenty of dark humor as well as great dialog and a lot of freedom when it comes to getting in and out of sticky situations. The interface could have been a bit better, but the game still had us hooked for the 30+ hours it took us to complete the main quest and most of the side missions. If you enjoy single-player role-playing games, then you are going to love this one.

Gameplay: Very addictive and while not as vast in scope as other open-world games, you are still given plenty of freedom.

Graphics: The game world is very colorful and there’s plenty of beautiful locations.

Sound: Great voice acting and a good soundtrack

With Bayonetta 2 Platinum Games has not just crafted one of the most enjoyable and impressive games on the Wii U, but also a title that can stand with the best of any system. The action is ever bit as over the top as the original game and fans of the character are in for a treat. If you enjoy action games then Bayonetta 2 is simply one of the best titles available.

Gameplay: Bayonetta 2 focuses even more on the in-depth combat that has made the first game such a hit.

Graphics: Impressive for any system let alone the humble Wii U.

Sound: The soundtrack is great as is the sound effects and voice acting

Tank Mechanic Simulator

Tank Mechanic Simulator gives you your own museum and workshop before tasking you with restoring World War II tanks to their former glory. It’s a pretty niche title, but surprisingly accessible and actually very addictive once you become hooked. There’s a couple of rough edges and the subject matter is not for everyone, but overall it is a very enjoyable title that is worth your time.

Gameplay: Who knew restoring tanks could be such a relaxing experience.

Graphics: The tank models and environments all look great.

Sound: All the sound effects are decent and there’s plenty of relaxing background tunes

Granblue Fantasy: Versus PC Game Reviews

Granblue Fantasy: Versus

Even if you know nothing about the Granblue Fantasy franchise, this fighting game collaboration between Cygames and Arc System Works is a beautiful, yet accessible brawler. With in-depth training modes and a massive RPG section, there’s plenty of content here for players even before sinking their teeth into the multi-player modes. It might not have the biggest roster or most original story, but it is a lot of fun and that’s what matters the most.

Gameplay: Plenty of modes to keep players busy and the game is also very accessible.

Graphics: The art and animation are great.

Sound: The quality of the music, sound effects, and voice-overs are all very high

Bayonetta

Bayonetta was already a hit on consoles, but despite the years it took to reach PC, this is by far the best version of the game. It looks great, runs smoothly, and retains all the over-the-top action and excitement. The story is perhaps a bit too convoluted for its own good, but it provides players with plenty of unique enemies to pummel and some hilarious scenes that must be seen to be believed. If you like hack-and-slash games, you can’t go wrong with Bayonetta.

Gameplay: Bayonetta is stylish, over the top, and a lot of fun once you hone your reflexes.

Graphics: This is the best the game has ever looked since its release on consoles.

Sound: Everything from the voice acting to the soundtrack is top-notch

Mokoko PC Game Reviews

Mokoko

Mokoko is a fun Qix inspired title that fuses addictive gameplay with some lewd visuals. It shares a lot of similarities with the Gals Panic series by Kaneko, but adds enough wacky elements of its own so that it doesn’t just feel like a cheap clone. The free nudity patch is completely optional, but even without it, Mokoko is not exactly a family-friendly game. Nevertheless, it’s a fun game and definitely offers a lot of value for money.

Gameplay: It uses the tried and tested Qix formula, so you know it’s addictive and fun.

Graphics: Nothing spectacular, but the art is decent overall.

Sound: The soundtrack is decent and the voice acting is pretty good

Dead End Job PC Game Reviews

Dead End Job

Dead End Job is a twin-stick shooter where players take control of Hector Plasm, a ghost exterminator on a mission to save his mentor’s soul. To accomplish this Hector will need a lot of cash, but luckily there is no shortage of people willing to pay him to shoot ghosts with his plasma blaster before sucking up the pesky spirits in a vacuum pack. The procedurally generated levels in this game span several distinct districts and the game is a lot of fun. Dying means losing all your perks, which sucks and the co-op is a bit of a letdown due to the limitations of the secondary character, but overall Dead End Job has a lot to offer.

Gameplay: Shoot ghosts to stun them, then suck them up in a vacuum pack.

Graphics: Very colorful and there’s a wide range of different ghosts types to encounter.

Sound: The soundtrack fits the style of the game perfectly and there’s even a neat intro theme song

Everreach: Project Eden PC Game Reviews

Everreach: Project Eden

Everreach: Project Eden is a sci-fi themed third-person shooter with some RPG elements thrown into the mix as well. It’s not a bad looking game but struggles with cumbersome controls, stiff animations, and combat that lacks excitement. The story is interesting once you get caught up in it but prepare for some frustration and lack of polish along the way.

Gameplay: Rather short and could have benefited from some more polish.

Graphics: The visuals look good, but the animations are rather stiff.

Sound: Nice soundtrack, but the sound effects are rather lacking
