The setting is a beautiful biopunk space station that comes under unexpected attack by rapidly growing crystals. Players must guide a growbot named Nara on a quest to save the station. Players get to explore a mysterious arcade where playing a cursed arcade cabinet quickly turns into a fight for survival. The game is inspired by video games from the 90s but combines the retro visual style with modern standards for a more enjoyable experience. Tandem: A Tale of Shadows First Look Video

Tandem: A Tale of Shadows by Monochrome Paris and Hatinh Interactive is a puzzle platformer with a unique twist. Players take control of a girl named Emma and a teddy bear called Fenton as they attempt to solve the mystery of the disappearance of the famous magician Thomas Kane. Alternating between the top-down view of Emma and the side-scrolling view of Fenton, careful use of light and shadows is required to traverse the Victorian-inspired worlds of the game. Hoa is a puzzle platformer with beautiful hand-painted art and a moving piano soundtrack that is a perfect match for the relaxing gameplay. It’s not a very challenging game, apart from the last level where the difficulty ramps up rather unexpectedly, but it is very enjoyable. The subject and style mean this is not going to be a game for everyone, but Studio Ghibli fans will love the aesthetic of Hoa, and it is hard not to be charmed by the presentation.

Gameplay: Very easy, but great casual players and newcomers to the genre.

Graphics: The art and animations are top-notch.

Sound: The soundtrack and sound effects are incredible

The Frosts: First Ones is an interesting adventure game set in a harsh and frozen world. Players take control of a hunter named Berak, who embarks on a rescue mission to find his missing neighbor. While the gameplay mainly consists of walking through the environments, there are some interactions with other people and close encounters with dangerous wildlife. The game is very short, and the story ends just as things become more intriguing, but the low price and unique setting make it worth checking out.

Gameplay: Limited interactions but the journey through the snow-covered world is quite neat.

Graphics: Pixilated and lacking in color, but still very detailed and packed with interesting scenes.

Sound: The soundtrack and sound effects are really good

Dark Crypt by Daisy Games is a turn-based puzzler with a horror theme. Following the words of a prophecy, players must prevent the awakening of an ancient evil that slumbers within a crypt. Unfortunately, its shadow is already corrupting the tomb and causing the once buried bodies to now haunt the halls. With no protection other than their wits and the shadows, players must sneak past the undead and save the world. Dark Crypt is launching on the 16th of October, 2021, on Steam with 60 challenging levels. Check out the first look video below to see a few of these levels in action

Skeletal Avenger is a rogue-lite dungeon-crawling adventure featuring a skull-chucking undead warrior on a quest for vengeance. The game features a simple low-poly art style along with a mixture of procedurally generated and hand-made levels. With over 50 perks and trinkets, there’s plenty of scope to explore different playstyles, and an NG+ mode keeps the action going. While not the best-looking game, it features plenty of great content, and fans of the genre should have a blast.

Gameplay: The game is very accessible and packed with enough content to keep players busy.

Graphics: Visually, the game features great lighting and particle effects, but the procedurally generated levels can look a little bland.

Sound: The soundtrack is suitably epic and is a great match for the fantasy setting
