Alawar Announces 2D Space Western They Always Run

Alawar has recently announced that they are busy with the development of a 2D space western called They Always Run. The game is about a three-armed mutant who hunts the most dangerous criminals in the galaxy. They Always Run is being developed by the internal division of the company who also worked on projects such as Distrust and I am Not a Monster, while Alawar will be serving as publisher.

They Always Run is set in an alternate future in which the Empire has fallen and all inhabited worlds have descended into crime. For these troubled times, the demand for people who can find anyone, anywhere is high. This is where the player character, a three-armed mutant named Aidan, comes in. Aidan has a reputation for hunting the most notorious bounties in the galaxy, from the central worlds to the outskirts of civilization. The reward for these bounties is money, but sometimes valuable information can also be gained. Aiden can then use this information to find his real targets – the people behind a galaxy-wide conspiracy.

Alawar promises players a complex story, deep gameplay and a unique graphical style with They Always Run. Aidan’s third arm is not just for show either as it can be used to perform targeted attacks and throws, manipulate the environments and destroy obstacles. Players will be able to upgrade Aidan’s equipment, gain new abilities and grow stronger throughout the game.

While the game does not have an exact release date yet, it is expected to appear on Steam sometime in 2021. The store page for the game is already up, so players can ad They Always Run to their Steam wishlist.
