Got a hankering for a turn-based role playing game, but tired of the same old saving the world cliché? In that case, Celestian Tales: Old North might be one to watch. The game promises lush, hand-painted environments, memorable characters, emotive character portraits, moral decisions and a sprawling storyline, but without resorting to the formulaic elements present in most RPGs. This means no ancient prophesies, world ending catastrophes, or character who is the “chosen” one.

Instead the story is centered on a group of warriors in training for the dangerous threat coming from another land. The characters must learn who they are and where they stand while building up their skills for the impending war. Six playable characters will allow players to view the events unfold from different perspectives, while moral confrontations are presented throughout the game. According to the developers, players will also feel the weight of their character’s actions more due to the absence of rehashed RPG clichés. What intrigues us the most about this title is the fact that good deeds done by one character might be perceived as evil by another, so there is definitely incentive view the events through the eyes of multiple characters.

Check out the launch trailer below and keep an eye on Steam, Humble Store and GOG.com as the PC and Mac version of Celestian Tales: Old North will launch on August 10, 2015.

Does The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker meets Stardew Valley sound like your type of game? Well, that's exactly what the tropical adventure, Summer in Mara, is shaping up to be. It's a winning combination if ever there was one and, judging from the reception on Kickstarter, a lot of players agree. It's the tale of a girl named Koa who lives in peace on her home island. However, she has always felt the call of the ocean and the urge to explore, so she sets out to do just that with her boat.

Good news for fans of original and unique visual novels as Lupiesoft are back and this time they have Space Elves! For their latest title Lupiesoft turned their attention to the stars and created The Stargazers, a game inspired by 50s and 80s science fiction, pulp fiction and good old mecha anime. Unlike their previous titles this one is set to be a self-contained story and will follow the adventures of the Stargazers Squadron, a group of three pilots who are stationed in deep space.
