First Person Horror Title Kholat Packed With Star Collaborators
Ever hear about the “Dyatlov Pass Incident” which took place in 1959? It involves the mysterious deaths of a group of Russian students in the Ural Mountains and even today the cause of the tragedy is unknown. Kholat offers players a chance to explore the area of the tragedy themselves to uncover what really happened, but even though it is set years after the actual event it would appear that there is still something to fear in those mountains.
Viewed in first person, the game promises to deliver an open world map with nonlinear gameplay where the focus is on storytelling as well as exploration. In addition to the main storyline there will also be a lot of background plot for players to uncover while immersing themselves in the Unreal Engine 4 powered visuals. It is not only the compelling story and detailed visuals that will set Kholat apart, but also the collaborations it features with some pretty big names.
Last year the developers revealed that actor Sean Bean, perhaps best known for his portrayal of Ned Star in the Game of Thrones television series, will be lending his vocal talents to the game. Sean is set to star as Anton, who is the lead narrator in the game. A second collaboration was also recently announced and this time it is with the well-known Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. She is a familiar name in anime circles for her dubbing work, but also starred in numerous games. She also provided songs for the Silent Hill series and her vocals will now be heard in one of the tracks for Kholat too.
For a brief teaser of what to expect from McGlynn check out the video below. We also recommend that everyone keen an eye on the official Kholat website, Facebook and Twitter profiles for more information about the game. Kholat is set for release on PC on June 10 and we can’t wait to take a look at this intriguing title.
