Players have been creating their own unique stories in Minecraft for years, so it came as a bit of a surprise when Telltale Games recently announced an episodic game based on the license. The developer, known for creating compelling story-driven experiences, already have a string of licensed hits under their belt. During the Minecon event in Londen, the first trailer along with cast details was finally revealed.

Comedian Patton Oswalt is handling the voice duties for Jesse, the protagonist of the five-part episodic series. According to the developers, Jesse and his friends are huge fans of the four adventurers, known as the Order of the Stone, who slayed an Ender Dragon. However, Jesse and his group discovers something terrible while attending EnderCon and have to track down The Order of the Stone in order to save their world

Besides Patton, the game will also feature the vocal talents of Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Brian Posehn, Dave Fennoy, Billy West, Corey Feldman, Paul Reubens and Martha Plimpton amongst others. According to the CEO of Telltale Games, Kevin Bruner, their studio worked closely with Mojang to ensure that the story remains true to the Minecraft world.

The question is will this be on Steam. I know Notch wasn’t very keen to give Valve a slice of his profits but since he left the company surely things have changed.
