The Inferno Bundle By Bundle Stars

The Inferno Bundle By Bundle Stars

With ten Steam titles, half of which that has never appeared in a bundle before, The Inferno offers plenty of value for money. The bundle is not lacking in variety either with platform, racing, shooting and fighting all covered.

URBAN TRIAL FREESTYLE

Windows | View this game on Steam | Single Player | Steam Achievements | Full Controller Support | Steam Leaderboards | Steam Trading Cards

The trailblazer for this bundle is Urban Trial Freestyle, which as the name suggests, allows you to take a freestyle trials bike on a rampage through urban environments. While the game shares plenty of similarities with the Trials series from Ubisoft, it is still an enjoyable ride with some impressive looking levels. The game includes 47 levels that span five different environments, and sometimes the backgrounds are so chaotic that it is easy to get distracted! Your goal on each level is to traverse all the obstacles in your way using your bike and reaching the end zone as fast as possible. Between levels you can also customize your rider and bike, but I would have liked to see more options for these. Overall, the game is a nice alternative to the Ubisoft titles and quite entertaining in its own right. This is the first time that it has appeared in a bundle and it includes Steam Achievements as well as Trading Cards.

HEAVY FIRE: AFGHANISTAN

Windows | View this game on Steam |Single Player |Local Co-op |Steam Achievements |Partial Controller Support |Steam Leaderboards |Steam Trading Cards

The list of games inspired by arcade classics continue, this time with Heavy Fire: Afghanistan. The game is an arcade style, on-rails shooter that feels like a modern version of Operation Wolf. While you don’t have freedom of movement as in a typical first person shooter you still have to take cover while battling the insurgents. The game features 24 missions where you will be on foot, in tanks, assault vehicles or helicopters. To enhance the arcade experience even more you can play with three friends on one computer if you have enough controllers. The visuals are pretty decent and the action packed gameplay is fun despite the obvious limitations. Heavy Fire: Afghanistan supports Steam Achievements as well as Trading Cards and this is the first bundle that it has appeared in.

ORBITAL GEAR

Windows / MAC / Linux | View this game on Steam |Multi-player | Steam Achievements |Steam Trading Cards

The first multi-player only offering in the bundle, Orbital Gear, is a action packed shooter where you have to content with gravity as well as your opponents. The game offers a side view of the action and you get to pick two weapons, out of a selection of twelve, to take with you into the arena. Due to the gravity affecting your movements as well as your projectiles it can be tricky to score kills at first, but after some practice it becomes second nature. The game does not feature any type of single player mode, which is a pity, but it was easy enough to find an online match. Hopefully this bundle will get more people playing the game as it is very entertaining when playing with full teams. Orbital has not been bundled before and features Steam Achievements as well as Trading Cards.

JET CAR STUNTS

Windows | View this game on Steam | Single Player | Multi-player | Steam Achievements | Full Controller Support | Steam Leaderboards

Why race with ordinary cars when you can get into the cockpit of a Jet Car! Jet Car Stunts is an arcade racer where you get to show off your skills on the track and in the air. Courses are winding, twisted affairs that are set in the skies and requires you to hurtle along them at breakneck speeds. Your car is also capable of limited flight, which is where the “Stunts” part of the title comes into play. The gameplay is very reminiscent of the Trackmania titles, but the bold visuals and addictive challenge means it never feels like a clone. The game can be played in single player as well as multi-player and this is the first time that it is appearing in a bundle.

The Few

If you feel like you are up to the challenge of protecting Great Britain from the bombing raids during World War II then The Few is the game for you. This strategy title hands you the reigns of the RAF and requires you to take on waves of German bombers. You are given control of the building and strategic placement of facilities such as factories and air fields as well as the construction of air-planes. Once you have organized and trained your squadrons you have to send them out on patrols and engage the enemies. You can choose whether you want to play for 10, 25 or 50 in-game days, but the enemies are intelligent enough to provide a challenge each time you play. While the game requires plenty of strategy, the controls are kept simple, so you can focus on keeping your squadrons alive and hopefully survive the war. The Few supports Steam Achievements as well as Trading Cards.

8BitBoy

Windows | View this game on Steam | Single Player | Full Controller Support

Designed as a tribute to the classic platform titles of the 8-bit era, 8BitBoy contains everything that was great about the era it emulates. It features 56 levels to explore with more than 300 hidden locations to find. Everything from collecting coins to using power-ups and battling bosses are present along with some colorful visuals and a great soundtrack. The game shares a lot of similarities with the 8-bit Mario titles from Nintendo and isn’t afraid to challenge players either. The storyline about a man that is sucked into a game world is typical for the type of games that 8BitBoy is emulating and overall it is a nice tribute to the genre. With a main story that promises to be in excess of sixteen hours you won’t be completing this game in a hurry! This is only the second time that 8BitBoy has appeared in a bundle.

DUNGEONS: THE EYE OF DRACONUS

Windows | View this game on Steam | Single Player | Multi-Player | Co-op | Partial Controller Support | Steam Achievements | Steam Trading Cards

Dungeons: The Eye of Draconus is another title that seeks to emulate a classic genre from yesteryear, the side scrolling beat ’em up. This genre enjoyed some popularity in the arcades and Golden Axe appears to be the title that influenced Dungeons the most. You can select from three different characters and team up with friends in local or online co-op to take on the Orks, Kobolds and other fantasy creatures. The game features very nice visuals, with hand painted backgrounds and it also doesn’t take itself very seriously which adds to the fun. It is also probably the only fantasy themed game where a male character wears an even skimpier outfit than his female companion! The game is a lot of fun to play, but like the games which it draws its inspiration from can be completed rather quickly. Dungeons: The Eye of Draconus also features Steam Achievements as well as Trading Cards and this is its début bundle appearance.

Speed Kills

Windows | View this game on Steam | Single Player | Full  Controller Support | Steam Achievements

Speed Kills is yet another title that draws its inspiration from genre classics, which in this case is Rock ‘n’ Roll Racing. You have the same isometric viewpoint, but this time the visuals are powered by the Unreal Engine. You take part in action-packed races, set on five different planets and spread across more than 50 tracks. With 8 vehicles to choose from and upgrade there is plenty of variety on offer. The game plays well with a controller, but when navigating the menus you are stuck using a keyboard which is a bit cumbersome. The game can be quite challenging until you get the hang of the handling, but it is also quite addictive and captures the spirit of the genre well. While the game doesn’t have any Steam Trading cards, it does feature Achievements and this is the first time that it has appeared in a bundle of any kind.

RESIDUE: FINAL CUT

Windows | View this game on Steam | Single Player | Full  Controller Support | Steam Achievements | Steam Trading Cards

For a game with a unique setting and interesting storyline you won’t be disappointed with Residue: Final Cut. The game is a 2-D platform adventure where you get to explore an abandoned excavation site in Uzbekistan. The site is set in the remains of the Aral Sea which provides the game with a very mysterious atmosphere. Instead of one lead character you get to switch between three very different ones, each with their own abilities. The setting also provides plenty of variety and you never know what is going to be required from you next. Although the main storyline is quite short, there is enough secret content to discover to keep you busy for much longer. The game supports Steam Achievements as well as Trading Cards.

Freedom Fall

Windows | View this game on Steam | Single Player | Full  Controller Support | Steam Achievements | Steam Trading Cards | Steam Leaderboards

Freedom Fall might look like a typical platform title, but beneath the lush 2-D visuals lurks a fiendishly difficult challenge. Instead of the usual left to right levels, Freedom Fall is set in a prison tower where you have to make your way from the top to the bottom of each level. The hand painted visuals are very charming and the game also has quite an interesting story. Each level is packed with traps, but you do get to use some equipment like a hang glider and bombs to help you out, but mostly you will have to rely on quick reflexes. Freedom Fall features both Steam Achievements and Steam Trading Cards.

The Inferno Bundle is a great way to kick off the “Bundle Fest” and has a nice selection of titles. The fact that more than half of the titles have not been bundled before also makes this a great deal for frequent bundle buyers. The quality of the games in this bundle is also quite high with nothing that can be labeled  filler. There is still a few days left to grab the Inferno Bundle, so head over to the official Bundle Stars website now to get this bundle and many more.
