Sharkmob Announces Vampire: The Masquerade Battle Royale Title

While Vampire: The Masquerade has always been associated with the tabletop RPG and later the cult-classic PC title, Bloodlines. However, Sharkmob has recently announced that they will be putting their unique spin on the license with Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt. Set to release on PC later this year, Bloodhunt promises a dark and intense Battle Royale game.

Bloodhunt is set in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe and pit players against each other in thrilling third-person battles. This Battle Royale game will be free-to-play and has been in development at Sharkmob since the studio’s inception. Fredrik Rundqvist, CEO of Sharkmob, stated that the studio’s goal is to deliver a mature, unique experience for the genre.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt will be available on Steam in late 2021, but a Closed Alpha test will start on the 2nd of July. Players interested in participating can sign up for a chance to play by visiting www.bloodhunt.com.

Bloodhunt is being developed in close collaboration with the World of Darkness brand team. The war between the various vampire sects take place in Prague’s city and was triggered by the arrival of strike teams from the Second Inquisition. Bloodhunt will feature supernatural powers that players can use to battle each other and computer-controlled enemies in a bid to be the last vampire standing. The beautiful Old Town of Prague will be rendered in high fidelity graphics, and players will also be able to personalize their characters. Their Clan allegiance will determine the playstyle of characters, but the character customization will allow players to let their own personalities shine through.

According to Sharkmob, Bloodhunt is being created with a player-focused mentality, which means it will not contain any “pay-to-win” or similar mechanics. Only time will tell if the game can live up to expectations, but so far, it looks like the license is in good hands. Check out the official announcement trailer and screenshots below, and be sure to give Sharkmob a follow on Twitter. The game also has a Twitter account, and more information can be found on the official website.
