Guardian Stone will be released for free and feature optional in-app purchases. Players can choose from three different heroes, a ranger, warrior or mage, and summon Guardians to assist during battles. In addition to a huge storyline, the game will also feature a PVP Arena, where players can compete for runes, prestige and gold. Players will be able to challenge a multitude of Heroes and get crowned as an Arena Champion as they advance through the ranks. Crafting will also play a big role in the game and players will be able to create new weapons and armor by defeating enemies.

The game features a beautiful 3D visual style for which it earned a Unity Award nomination and simple controls to direct the Heroes and Guardians. With plenty of English visual novels appearing on Steam and in bundles these days players are spoiled for choice. However, indie games with adult content still face an uphill battle in terms of funding and exposure. We’ve seen developers like Lupiesoft expanding their roster with adult titles, such as the upcoming Menagerie, but outside of the visual novel genre the pickings for quality adult titles are still slim. Nevertheless, a small team of programmers, designers and artists are seeking to change this with their upcoming 18+ title, Lewd Warfare.

The Old City: Leviathan

The Old City: Leviathan

As the protagonist of The Old City: Leviathan kept addressing his claustrophobic surroundings as if it was a living entity I was convinced that he was mad. Not that I could blame him really. Described as a “sewer dwelling isolationist” who is making his way through the bleak environments of a decaying city, it is hard not to feel sorry for the nameless protagonist. You might view the world through his eyes and direct his movement, but you are certainly not playing “as” him. I was intrigued by his musings, but certain that he was mad, until the city answered.

PC titles that mimic the 16-bit, 8-bit and even 2-bit titles of yesteryear are nothing new, but encountering a 1-bit title in 2015 is still a bit unusual. Especially when it is an isometric, rogue-like sidescroller that doesn’t skimp on the action. We were a bit skeptical about the promise of high definition 1-bit graphics, but after playing the press demo of Rogue Invader there is no denying that this game has got plenty of style and charm.

Graphics kinda reminds me of World of Warcraft. Hope the game is less of a grind.

Never did understand the point of “soft launching” something. Just get it out everywhere if it is done and ready.
