TECHNOSPHERE RELOAD

TECHNOSPHERE RELOAD

Technosphere Reload is a great looking game, but don’t underestimate the challenge that it has to offer. While it might look like a casual title, completing it will take every ounce of skill and patience that you have. The game requires you to roll a sphere through a gauntlet of maze filled traps while figuring out some puzzles along the way. It will also put your platforming skills to the test, but beware as lives are limited and checkpoints few and far between. This is not a game for the easily frustrated, but it does look great and overcoming the odds that are stacked against you can be very rewarding.

Gameplay: Frequently frustrating and bogged down by needless elements like the energy meter, but rewarding if you can handle the challenge.

Graphics: The visuals look top notch, but can be blinding at times.

Audio: No soundtrack and the sound effects are serviceable at best

Refunct

Refunct

Refunct is a short and sweet indie game that provides players with a first person platforming experience that is surprisingly relaxing. Jumping around and filling gray squares with green grass just by touching them is quite soothing and you’ll soon find yourself pulling off moves like wall jumping with ease. The whole thing can be completed in under thirty minutes and there is no risk of every dying, which means it might be a little boring for action fans. However, considering the low price and entertaining gameplay, there are far worse ways to spend those thirty minutes.

Gameplay: Fun and relaxing, but over a little too soon.

Graphics: Quite minimal, but everything looks great and fits the mood of the game.

Sound: Also quite minimal, but once again very fitting

A Hat in Time

A Hat in Time

Help Hat Girl retrieve the time pieces that fuel her spaceship in this colorful and charming 3D platformer. It is definitely a nostalgic experience for fans of the genre and offers a rip-roaring adventure across large, colorful levels. The hat swapping antics and the way in which the game constantly switches things up certainly makes for an engrossing experience. It is not without its flaws and could have benefited from a bit more polish, but what is on offer should definitely not be missed if you have fond memories of classic 3D platformers.

Gameplay: Solid 3D platforming action and plenty of variety.

Graphics: Bright, colorful and more than delivers on its promise of being “cute-as-heck.”

Sound: The soundtrack is great and the game even features some nice voice acting
