The Killer Bundle by Bundle Stars

Bundle Stars has had some killer bundles before, but this one truly deserves to be called THE Killer Bundle. It features ten high quality titles and best of all most of them has never been bundled before. This means that the game offers incredible value for money and you’ll definitely find something here that will make it worth your while.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl

Windows | View this game on Steam | Single Player | Multi-player

After giving players the chance to get S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky for a cheap a few times, Bundle Stars finally features the cult survival horror FPS that started it all, S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl. We gave the game a score of 8.7 in our original REVIEW and said “It’s easy to hate Stalker for all the things that it does wrong but if you take the time and effort to really get into the game instead of judging it by the standards of other First Person Shooters you will find a deeply engrossing and gripping experience that will keep you coming back for more.” The game is tough as nails, but very engrossing and thanks to the excellent mod support still has plenty to offer. This is the first time that Shadow of Chernobyl has appeared in a bundle, so it is a great chance to check it out.

Demonicon: The Dark Eye

Windows | View this game on Steam | Single Player | Steam Achievements | Full Controller Support |Steam Cloud | Steam Trading Cards

Next up is Demonicon: The Dark Eye also making its bundle debut. The game is a third person action role playing game that is set in the “Dark Eye” universe. Taking place in a land infested by all manner of demons and monsters the game features a dark and mature storyline where you will frequently have to make tough choices. The combat is not as action packed or enjoyable as similar titles such as The Witcher, but still provides a decent challenge. The visuals are fairly decent although animations could have used a bit more polish. Fans of the Dark Eye universe will appreciate the detail that has gone into the story and setting of Demonicon. There are better titles available in the genre, but Demonicon offers a challenging and entertaining experience. The game supports both trading cards and Steam achievements.

Pixel Piracy

Windows / MAC / Linux | View this game on Steam | Single Player | Steam Trading Cards

Continuing the streak of titles that have never been bundled before is Pixel Piracy which is a 2D, real-time strategy game. The campaign mode challenges you to become the most fearsome pirate in the world by defeating the four legendary pirate lords. Along the way you will have to recruit a crew of scallywags, customize your ship and then take to the open seas for adventure. The game is set in a procedurally generated world and features a permadeath system for extra challenge.. The retro style visuals might not be everyone’s cup of tea and the game can become repetitive, but there is certainly fun to be had. The developers have also hinted that the game will receive a free major content pack in the future.

Year Walk

Windows / MAC | View this game on Steam | Single Player | Steam Trading Cards

Year Walk is yet another never been bundled before title and a very good one at that. It is a first person title, but unlike anything else in the genre. The game allows you to experience the “ancient Swedish phenomena of year walking” which allows for a person to view a glimpse of their future. It is set in a 19th century version of Sweden and requires you to explore your surroundings to make sense of what is going on. The game features quite a dark story, but to say too much about it would ruin the experience. Year Walk features a unique visual style and effortlessly creates a very unnerving atmosphere that will stay with you long after you have completed it. It is not a very long game, but you’ll definitely want to play through it a few times to see everything it has to offer.

Alone in the Dark

Windows | View this game on Steam | Single Player

The horror continues in the 2008 version of Alone in the Dark. The original game is often credited with starting the whole survival horror genre, or at least popularizing it, but this version has left fans feeling very divided. The game is set in a re-creation of Central Park in New York and follows the adventures of Edward Carnby as he investigates yet another dark conspiracy. The game was released in 2008 and unfortunately requires a bit of work to run correctly on some modern systems. Alone in the Dark is a game with plenty of ambition, but it falters more often than not when it came to execution. Still, this is the first time that the game has been bundled which makes it a great opportunity to check it out for yourself.

Albedo: Eyes from Outer Space

Windows / MAC | View this game on Steam | Single Player | Steam Achievements

Albedo: Eyes from Outer Space is the first and only Early Access title in this bundle. As John T. Longy, the night-watchman at a secret research facility, you are left fending for yourself when monsters with giant eyeballs make their appearance. Albedo features some very impressive visuals for an indie title and manages to perfectly capture the goofy science fiction feel of b-movies. The game is played in first person and requires plenty of puzzle solving to outwit your alien enemies. The interface feels a bit clunky at first, but the puzzles require a bit more effort to solve than what is typically seen in the genre. This might frustrate players expecting a first person shooter, but even in this Early Access stage the game is brimming with potential. This title has also never been bundled before.

Kraven Manor

Windows | View this game on Steam | Single Player | Steam Achievements | Steam Cloud

Kraven Manor scored an 8.3 in our REVIEW when it was first released on Steam and we had this to say “There’s no denying that Kraven Manor can be completed rather quickly, but it packs a lot of scares into its short runtime. The story could probably have benefited from it being fleshed out a little bit more, but the creepy antagonist and sinister atmosphere of the manor itself makes for a memorable experience. The game doesn’t go overboard with the scares, but knows how to mess with you which makes for a startling experience, at least the first time through.” We also caught up with the team behind the game for more insights. It is the first time that the game has been bundled since its release.

FATE: The Cursed King

Windows | View this game on Steam | Single Player | Steam Achievements | Steam Cloud | Steam Leaderboards | Steam Trading Cards

A few previous Bundle Stars bundles included a FATE title and this one continues that fine tradition. This time it is the final chapter in this classic series, Fate The Cursed King, that makes its bundle debut. With procedurally generated levels, new ai-controlled party members and the usual assortment of weapons, spells and armor this game will keep role playing fans entertained for a long time. There are tons of quests to complete and areas to explore, but you can also take a break for some nice relaxing fishing. Thankfully the game is also very accessible to newcomers and will run fine on just about any PC. Like most of the other games in this bundle Fate: The Cursed King has never been bundled before.

Loren The Amazon Princess

Windows / MAC / Linux | View this game on Steam | Single Player | Steam Achievements | Steam Trading Cards

Winter Wolves is well known in the Indie scene for quality visual novels, but Loren The Amazon Princess leans more towards the fantasy role playing genre. While there is still romance involved the focus of the game is on turn based battles against hordes of monsters and villains. The game scored a 9 when it was first reviewed and we had this to say “The storyline in Loren the Amazon Princess really sucked me in and the cast of memorable characters kept me hooked. The turn based combat also turned out to be surprisingly fun and the game has a ton of replay value.” This is the first time that Loren The Amazon Princess has appeared in a bundle.

Real Boxing™

Windows | View this game on Steam | Single Player | Multi-player | Steam Achievements | Steam Trading Cards | Steam Leaderboards | Steam Cloud | Full Controller Support

Last up is Real Boxing which, as you have probably guessed by now has never been bundled before. As the name suggests the game is all about the noble art of pugilism. The game is powered by the Unreal engine and features motion capture from real boxers for enhanced realism. It obviously doesn’t have the polish of bigger titles such as the Fight Night series, but still has the potential to be very entertaining. The game is fast paced and while the fighting leans more towards arcade than simulation the controls work well and pulling off combos is a breeze. The character roster is a little small, but considering that this game had its roots on mobile devices it really isn’t a bad port.

It is no exaggeration to say that the Killer Bundle might just be one of the best Bundle Stars bundles to date. There is a great mix of cult classics such as S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl, highly rated indie titles such as Year Walk and even some b-movie style madness such as the Early Access title, Albedo: Eyes from Outer Space. Time is running out though, so head over to the official Bundle Stars website to buy your copy before you miss out.
