Faerie Solitaire

Faerie Solitaire

Solitaire is notorious for being an insidious little time waster and combining it with role playing elements isn’t doing anybodies spare time any favors. Nevertheless this is a fun and addictive game with some cool ideas and lots of playtime. Prepare to be still playing this game long after you expected to.

Gameplay: A unique and entertaining mix of solitaire and fantasy.

Graphics: The artwork is actually quite nicely done and very polished.

Sound: Nice ambient noises, mellow tunes and decent voice overs

Haunt the House: Terrortown

Haunt the House: Terrortown

Haunt The House might not be the longest or most challenging game we’ve played, but it has a unique setting, stylish visuals, and plenty of entertainment. Scaring people with the strange actions you can coax out of ordinary objects is surprisingly fun, and each location offers plenty of unique opportunities to try out your poltergeist skills.

Gameplay: The game is straightforward but quite entertaining.

Graphics: Haunt the House features detailed and charming visuals.

Sound: The game offers a selection of nice tunes and plenty of sound effects

The Reject Demon: Toko Chapter 0 — Prelude

The Reject Demon: Toko Chapter 0 — Prelude

The Reject Demon features an interesting cast of characters, twisting storyline and a great setting, which is all backed up by some very nice artwork. The soundtrack is also very good and, while short, it is definitely an enjoyable experience. It ends a little abruptly, but we are definitely looking forward to the future chapters.

Gameplay: The story is enjoyable and the characters all very memorable.

Graphics: The unique art style definitely sets the game apart.

Sound: Features a variety of very nice tracks

The Culling Of The Cows

The Culling Of The Cows

The Culling of the Cows is an action packed arcade experience with a nice visual style. Blasting the enemies requires a quick trigger finger, but the inclusion of assists and upgrades ads a strategic element to the gameplay as well. If you can appreciate a good shooter with a rather dark sense of humor you will find a lot to like about The Culling of The Cows.

Gameplay: A challenging arcade shooter that requires some strategic thinking as well.

Graphics: Nice hand-drawn visual style with plenty of detail.

Sound: The music and sound effects match the gameplay perfectly.

Regency Solitaire

Regency Solitaire

Regency Solitaire builds on the solid foundation of this addictive card game but adds enough extra elements to keep you hooked. The game has a romantic storyline, beautifully drawn visuals, and more than enough levels to keep you busy for ages. The challenges start very simple but quickly ramp up, and you’ll need all the ballroom items you can find or purchase to even the odds. Even if the Regency era and casual games are not your cup of tea, you’ll find that Regency Solitaire is addictive enough to make it worthwhile.

Gameplay: The game is very addictive and features plenty of extra elements to keep things varied.

Graphics: Regency Solitaire features beautiful visuals for a solitaire title.

Sound: The game features a relaxing soundtrack and good effects, but apart from the intro cut-scene, there is no voice acting

Alpha Kimori™ 1

Alpha Kimori™ 1

Alpha Kimori has a very interesting backstory, and while it only clocks in at about five hours, it does set things up nicely for the rest of the trilogy. The visuals are a blast from the past, and fans of classic 16-bit RPGs will really enjoy the game. It is let down by some frequent backtracking, but definitely worth completing in order to uncover the whole story.

Gameplay: Classic SNES era JRPG but with less grinding and thankfully enemies are visible.

Graphics: Runs on the RPG Maker engine, but with some nice custom art.

Sound: Great theme song, crisp sound effects, and nice tunes

Pixel Puzzles 2: Anime

Pixel Puzzles 2: Anime

Pixel Puzzles 2: Anime packs the same innovations introduced by the previous entry in the series, such as rotating puzzle pieces and a sorting tray, but with a brand new theme. The anime illustrations are not only beautiful and colorful, but also a lot of fun to assemble which makes for an addictive experience. The annoying little crabs are also gone, but have been replaced by an equally annoying Pixel Fairy.

Gameplay: Challenging and very addictive.

Graphics: The new anime themed illustrations are beautiful.

Sounds: The music is nice and mellow, but the fairy can become very annoying.

Sakura Angels

Sakura Angels

Sakura Angels is a definite improvement over Sakura Spirit, but still falls short of greatness. Players who like plenty of fan service and don’t mind a story that is a bit clichéd will enjoy the game though and the artwork is beautiful. It is also a more risqué game compared to Sakura Spirit, but once again the title is more ecchi than hentai, so will be tame to people used to nukige titles.

Gameplay: The story is a bit more involved this time round and there are much more choices.

Graphics: Beautiful art work with plenty of detail.

Sound: Once again, no voice acting, but the music isn’t too bad

To Be or Not To Be

To Be or Not To Be

To Be or Not to Be is a faithful recreation of the original book by Ryan North, only enhanced by the Gamebook Adventures Engine from Tin Man Games. This means there isn’t much here that’s new for people already familiar with the book. Anyone who has yet to experience the over-the-top interpretation of the famous tale should have lots of fun with To Be or Not To Be. The story is humorous, and the artwork contributed by some very well-known artists is great.

Gameplay: The story is great, and with so many different endings to discover, there is plenty of replay value.

Graphics: Great presentation and brilliant artwork.

Sound: The music is good, as is the narration, although the latter can become repetitive

Coffin Dodgers (Milky Tea Studios)

Coffin Dodgers (Milky Tea Studios)

It is hard not to crack a smile while knocking old people off their mobility scooters as you dodge U.F.Os and zombies in a bright, cartoony setting. It sounds horrifying, I know, but then again Coffin Dodgers is a game that doesn’t take itself very seriously. This kart racer is currently available on Steam Early Access and pits seven retirement village residents in a race to the death against the Grim Reaper himself
