Lone Fungus by BastiGames

Lone Fungus by BastiGames

With all the great 2D indie platformer titles on the market, it’s hard to believe that the genre almost died out with the advent of 3D graphics on consoles. It has also been great to see how different developers have been putting their own spin on the genre. For example, Lone Fungus is a “Mushroom Metroidvania” that is currently in need of backing over on Kickstarter. According to the developer, Basti, Lone Fungus was inspired by new and old classics like Hollow Knight, Super Metroid, Super Castlevania IV, and Megaman X, which was enough to get our attention

New Gameplay Teaser Revealed For Goner

The developers of Goner, the dinosaur survival adventure game currently on Kickstarter, has revealed a brand new gameplay teaser. Goner has already reached its Kickstarter goal, but with three days left it is also within reach of its second stretch goal. If achieved, this stretch goal will see a quetzalcoatlus added to the game. This pterosaur dates back to the Late Cretaceous period and was apparently one of the largest known flying animals of all time, so it is certainly something that we would love to see in the game. If quetzalcoatlus is added it will also come with new game mechanics and interactions

There’s nothing as soothing as a good nature documentary, which is why Natural Instincts by Dreamstorm Studios caught our eye. The game promises to be an interactive nature documentary sim where players are given the opportunity to keep the balance. The game currently has a Kickstarter Campaign running to help generate the CA$15,000 needed to make it a reality

There has been a bit of a boom lately when it comes to visual novels, but fans of the genre will agree that there’s always room for more, especially yuri ones. Summer in Mara by Chibig Studio

Summer in Mara by Chibig Studio

Does The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker meets Stardew Valley sound like your type of game? Well, that’s exactly what the tropical adventure, Summer in Mara, is shaping up to be. It’s a winning combination if ever there was one and, judging from the reception on Kickstarter, a lot of players agree. It’s the tale of a girl named Koa who lives in peace on her home island. However, she has always felt the call of the ocean and the urge to explore, so she sets out to do just that with her boat

Godhood by Abbey Games

Godhood by Abbey Games

It has been a while since we’ve seen a good god game, but Abbey Games plan on changing that with the upcoming release of Godhood. The Dutch studio has already proven themselves with games like Reus and Renowned Explorers, but Godhood looks like it will be their most ambitious title yet. Although the base game has already been funded and on course for an Early Access release in May 2019, Abbey Games launched a Kickstarter campaign today to provide it with even more depth

Rogue Invader by Squishy Games

PC titles that mimic the 16-bit, 8-bit and even 2-bit titles of yesteryear are nothing new, but encountering a 1-bit title in 2015 is still a bit unusual. Especially when it is an isometric, rogue-like sidescroller that doesn’t skimp on the action. We were a bit skeptical about the promise of high definition 1-bit graphics, but after playing the press demo of Rogue Invader there is no denying that this game has got plenty of style and charm

FlameFrost Legacy By Epic Dragon

FlameFrost Legacy By Epic Dragon

In recent years we’ve seen indie developers take on some pretty ambitious projects, and pull it off, but Epic Dragon takes things to a whole new level. This indie outfit composes of only a programmer and artist, but these two guys plan on creating an MMORPG. We are not talking pixel art or retro art visuals either, but full-blown 3D and tons of detail. Even more amazing, they plan for the whole thing to run inside a modern browser without the need for any plug-ins to be installed first and for players to get in the game within seconds

The point & click adventure genre has seen a resurgence in recent years thanks to indie developers, but we haven’t seen many classic Myst-style puzzle adventures. This is about to change thanks to Zadbox Entertainment and their first major title, Quern – Undying Thoughts. Influenced by the works of Jules Verne and inspired by the visual style of the Myst series, Quern is a first person puzzle adventure where players get to explore a mysterious island
